BUSH-ERA NSA WHISTLEBLOWER MAKES MOST EXPLOSIVE ALLEGATIONS YET
The Blaze ^ | 6/20/2013 | Jason Howerton

Russ Tice, a former intelligence analyst and Bush-era NSA whistleblower, claimed Wednesday that the intelligence community has ordered surveillance on a wide range of groups and individuals, including high-ranking military officials, lawmakers and diplomats.

He also made another stunning allegation. He says the NSA had ordered wiretaps on phones connected to then-Senate candidate Barack Obama back in 2004.

“They went after–and I know this because I had my hands literally on the paperwork for these sort of things–they went after high-ranking military officers; they went after members of Congress, both Senate and the House, especially on the intelligence committees and on the armed services committees and some of the–and judicial,” Tice told Peter B. Collins on Boiling Frog Post News.

He went on: “But they went after other ones, too. They went after lawyers and law firms. All kinds of–heaps of lawyers and law firms. They went after judges. One of the judges is now sitting on the Supreme Court that I had his wiretap information in my hand. Two are former FISA court judges. They went after State Department officials. They went after people in the executive service that were part of the White House–their own people.”

Could be the Dem election strategy started in 2004?

thouworm in post 15 linked to this thread from 2006

Fox News is reporting that Russell Tice, the "NSA Whistle Blower" now the darling of the NY Times and the Left, lost his sceurity clearance in 2003 and was subsequently fired after being diagnosed as a "psychotic paranoid." He was reassigned from the job of China Analyst to the NSA Motor Pool (I am not making this up) before his firing for further, unknown failings. This is the guy who has "blown the whistle" on President Bush.

Yeah, well, wasn't he known to have had involvement in the New Party? To have had numerous ties to the communist party? To have had ties to known domestic terrorists like Ayers and Dohrn? Not exactly the kind of guy with America's best interest at heart. Wonder if they were still monitoring when he visited Odinga in 06.

Not only that, this story also frames it as if under Bush they were not only going after citizens records, but the records of high ranking public officials.

This isn’t just everyone does it, it’s Bush was far worse, and nobody cared then. So leave me alone...

The real story here is confirmation of the surveillance blackmail state. Our government is controlled under threat of blackmail by spooks, who then use that power to give themselves ever more expansive powers to spy on citizens.

I’m willing to believe this guy’s story. I heard about a Texas politician who had a run-in with Bush and Rove when George W. was governor. Then on the same day of Bush’s inauguration, he gets a call from the IRS to say he’s going to get audited. George W. had a real mean streak and the public didn’t know about it since he could play a dumbass on TV and a dumbass often looks harmless.

history commons Are they all "crazy"? Sounds like the NSA may have a convenient way to silence any dissent if you can believe this article.

I am not sure Tice was crazy.

Fox News was obviously getting its information directly from Tokyo Rove and Dick Cheney who are propagandists in the tradition of Goebbels. On the other hand the New York Times was using him for political purposes and he was most likely embellishing his story to please them who were making him a hero.

What makes Snowden unique was he had a thumbdrive and the information that he was providing was not entirely from his memory.

I believe the NSA was wiretapping but I do not believe that Tice's story to the Blaze is credible because it became more specific over seven years time and he never claimed that he took documents with him.

Bush had two mean streaks, one was named Rove and the other was named Cheney.

If they were collecting information about their enemies, they would have done a better job of using it.

Craig Livingstone gave Hilary and Bill the FBI files and they took down Newt and Livingston in the period of a few weeks.

If they were collecting information on Obama back in 2004 or any of that Chicago gang, Barry would have been where Jesse Jackson Jr is headed now.

I do not think either Bush or Obama used the NSA to dig up dirt on their opponents directly without going through the FBI.

Obama was obviously more comfortable doing things the old fashioned way at the IRS by releasing tax information which is a felony and should be pursued.

The federal government has been blatantly trampling on the very principle of every man's Privacy, an Unalienable Right which has been cherished since even before our Revolution.

The ferragummit is using our Natural Rights and Constitution for toilet paper. It has to stop. If there's any justice and sanity to the People, this will become the theme of the next two elections, thanks to a few real statesmen (and women) and whoever runs on a Presidential platform of radical (and necessary and proper) federal government reform, will win the Presidency and lead us into a new era of individual Liberty, minimal government, and Opportunity for all.

Either that or the Welfare/Police State win roll over every vestige of American Freedom, and the Republic can truly be said to have fallen...

Absent even a shred of evidence I am astounded anyone here or anywhere gives any credence to what this guy says.

He was fired from his job with the NSA and that is a fact. Whether some here claim he was railroaded carries no more weight than the un substantiated charges he is making now.

All hear say, every single word of it.
