A recent Freerepublic post about lesbian moms being featured on the last episode of Disney's Good Luck Charlie has gotten me to thinking about whether there is a Christian ratings system for tv programs, movies and music. It is time for something like this. Years ago there was a religious group called the Legion of Decency which rated movies by their content regarding their portrayal of morality. Movies were much cleaner back then.
If gays, abortion lovers and other degenerates can be the guiding hand of Hollywood morality why can't Christians use their numbers to provide parents with some clear guidelines. A word from this group can warn parents away from programs that try to sneak in unhealty programming for kids. Parents can weigh in and judge what they think of various shows. Comments would be welcome also.

It would be nice. In my humble opinion, we are in the mist of the apostasy, and any christian rating system will chastised by the left. I’m not so sure it would work.

Christian Spotlight DOES do it more movies. Something has gone seriously wrong with the Disney corporation. Thanks for pointing that out, as my girls watch Good Luck Charlie.

In 1959 the transvestite comedy Some Like It Hot was released by a small production company, with its producers specifically ignoring the code.
In 1966 Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf was the first release by a major to ignore the code.
By 1970 all the majors had bypassed the code.
In 1972, Deep Throat became a national success.
So many movies have cringe worthy sex scenes and dialog that seem out of place in what otherwise would be a family friendly comedy. There are no more family friendly comedies anymore, they are all rated R. Hansel and Gretel, a children's story, is rated R. There is an R rated Snow White. I could go on and on, but there is very little I can watch with my children, now.

There were a whole bunch of films that caused a give and take with the Code changing here and there. The 1951 film of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ was one of the early breakthrough. If Marilyn Monroe hadn’t died during the filming of ‘Something’s Got to Give’ in 1962 it would have been the first film with a mainstream star appearing nude (that honor went to 1963’s ‘Promises! Promises!’ with Jayne Mansfield). The first film with nudity to receive a Production Code seal was The Pawnbroker in 1964.
P.S. Is ‘Some Like it Hot’ really a ‘transvestite’ comedy? They dressed that way to avoid gangsters not for sexual gratification.
E.T. was made when Disney films and ‘kiddie’ movies were regarded as Box Office poison.
I have one and it 99.9999999999999% of the time keeps me out of movie theaters because of the garbage, and this is being unkind to garbage calling it that, but the movies are garbage and I don’t give my money to the pigs in Hollyweird. Period.

The Disney channel has been running promos (featuring lesbians in bed) for that show in other programming. You see commercials like this on sports shows and other family fare. Personally if I still had kids at home, I wouldn’t have cable.
