So why did they hire her back and why did she accept?

Money is what drives Fox News, so you can take a guess. They may have thought she had been rehabilitated.

I don't think Fox News expected her to threaten the GOP. Roger Ailes is not probably not a very happy man, and I'm sure his liberal boss, ole Rupert, is definitely not very happy.

I'm with you there brother. Sister? Don't matter.

Of that group you mentioned I still have a soft spot for W. A man I campaigned against, held my nose to vote and eventually believed I had at least love of country in common with him. It surprised me that I could like him.

As a weak kneed one worlder he was still one of them. And his performance overall may have been a setup for electing Obama.

GO SARAH GO. What is the worst that can happen? Dems win the White House? Well, guess what? The RINOs ensure that anyway - at least we can start building a CONSERVATIVE party. May take an election or two but WE WILL PREVAIL!!!

I would love a viable conservative third party.

When a Republican ‘victory’ only means slightly to the left of the Democommies, it is no victory, only a loss by another name. And there comes a time, after repeated losses, that there is nothing left to lose by doing something else.

I am starting to think we have reached the point after which, it is only a gain, to change to a new party.

We may very well already, be there.

Look at Priubus all advocating for Immigration reform. Our party is on drugs, if they think we are actually advocating for this.

I’m serious. Nobody cares about that. Most of us oppose any such thing.

It’s over. I say move to a new party now.

So they fire her, good it gives her more publicity and a spring board especially if they do it over the "Freedom" Party. Not to mention they loose viewer-ship.

Before we can vote for a third party, we need a second party....

Good move?

Possibly...

But the timing is not too swell.

I'm SURE that we will swingly violently back to the right in the next election.

No; let me say we have a high probability that Republicans will garner a LOT of seats next election.

Whether that means to the right would remain to be seen.

I doubt the high ranking powers that be that CONTROL the GOP really want to lose out again; so I seriously doubt they'd be so STUPID to run yet another RINO like Romney or a fightless McCain.

We like Sarah because she's a FIGHTER!

We are damned tired of being stomped on, so almost ANY 'fighter' the GOP puts forward would accepted, even if the Conservative label doesn't sit too well.

This being said, she'd have to fight the Libs (easy knock out there) but also the GOP (if she ran Independant or a new party)

The natural rebound the pubs will get next time would make it very hard for a third party to succeed, and would possibly get us another Ross Perot outcome. (Do we really want another CLINTON?)

He was a fighter, and the GOP was on the ropes then, as well.

This just could be her destiny and probably our only chance of saving the country at this point.

Sarah's good; but she CANNOT 'save' this country!

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,

then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.

I would most certainly follow her. Not that I haven’t already left the Republican Party in my heart… There just isn’t anywhere to go.

If Lakeshark has had a change of mind, we should think about letting bygones be bygones going forward.

I don’t know the history here, but there are a lot of people out there who may have come to this point by a very difficult, and circuitous route. It’s difficult to take something that is so steeped in the traditional way and change it.

Many of those people who thought (as I myself once did) that a vote for some kind of marginal candidate who had no chance of getting elected was no better than pulling a lever for the other candidate, will eventually have to (out of necessity) reevaluate their position, assuming they are introspective enough to do so. (Just an aside here, I’ve always thought that was one of the key differences between liberals and conservatives. Conservatives constantly have to examine and re-examine their positions because going against the grain requires it. Liberals completely lack introspection. They never, ever evaluate and reevaluate their positions.)

If conservatism is ever to succeed, we need to bring people to the trough, and allow them to drink. For many of us, drinking from a new trough requires that we often have to kill some of our own sacred cows to do so. It’s my opinion that we need to give folks enough room to slaughter those sacred cows in their own minds.

Just my two cents. Didn’t mean to intrude on something that sounds like it might have a little history behind it.

Well, how did the GOP become a viable third party in the 1850’s?

I guess, as a “conservative” you were very happy with two terms of Bill Clinton, Obama and Hillary next and pleased that you contributed to it.

That is a good post. I think it ties right into the other post I just put up before this… There are a lot of conservatives who have to go through that five stages of grief.

Not an easy thing to do.
