Jihadist Group: We Started Arizona Wildfires

Oh the many facets of jihad! Now we’re seeing fire jihad in America. According to reporter David Barnett, a Palestinian jihadist group, Masada al Mujahideen, has recently claimed credit for the ongoing wildfires in Arizona in a statement that was posted to a jihadist forum on Wednesday.

Barnett reports:

The statement, titled “Masada al-Mujahideen Fulfilled its Promise and Attacked America Again After the Expiration of the Period with Fires that Achieved Historic Results,” was obtained and translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

“We had previously announced an unconventional war against the occupation state of Israel, and then we escalated this war to reach its main supporter, America, so that it receives a major share of it, which will destroy their flora and fauna, with permission from Allah and then with our hands,” the group said.

Agreed. However, I’m surprised that they have not initiated such fires. Especially along California’s coastal mountains.

If this is true—and that is a big if for me—then some Christians outght to burn a few mosques. IF its more than a boast by some nuts. It may well be the start of a long hot summer for the southwest.

*So they claim to have mastered fire.*

Ironic that they would use 4th century BC technology like regular fire when they know that we can use 20th century nuclear “fire” to turn their countries into sheets of glass.

I don’t believe them for one big reason. If they are trying to set fires to cause massive damage the fires would have been set in cities, where huge amounts of damage and loss of life could easily occur. The 19 firemen could not have been preplanned.

No, if the terrorist decide to use fire as a weapon it will be in the wooden tenements of large cities, using huge amounts of accelerates and middle of the night fires or early morning traffic jam fires.

My conclusion is that this Masada al Mujahideen has about as much creditability as Congress or the Administration. Liars all.

With access to water, fires in cities are more easily contained. Wildfires, however, can and do get out of control. The 2003 wildfires in San Diego for example burned 1500 structures and took 15 lives. There is no fire in a modern city going to do that.

And I don't believe them either. But radical islamists have made similar threats and should they one day follow through they could cause a lot of damage and take many lives.

You may be right. Not being a fireman, I’m not sure, but i would love to see a City fireman and a country fireman chime in.

I am actually in Scottsdale (just moved here three weeks ago). If you have any sources I would welcome to see them, but the post here is the first I heard of any terrorist possibly being involved.

At least one of the recent NM fires was arson.

Arson was involved in several Southern CA fires a few years ago, there were two years that were very bad, one or both was also around San Diego.
