The primary race is more than a year away, but Tennessee Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander isn’t taking any chances — he’s launching a six-figure television ad campaign featuring Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul.

The ad will run on television and radio statewide July 8-21 at a total cost in excess of $200,000, CQ Roll Call reported Friday.

“Nobody wants to say no to Lamar Alexander,” Paul said in the spot, which touts Alexander’s role in passing the Freedom to Fish Act.

Well, in the spot Rand Paul is praising the freedom to fish act which Lamar cosponsored. It’s not a direct endorsement of his reelection.

I just think it’s very telling that Lamar Alexander decided to include Rand Paul in his ad.

Did Rand Paul endorse Lamar Alexander? I highly doubt it.

Sorry Lamar! I won’t vote for you, come hell or high water.

So the only other question is will I vote for a dem, an independent, or some other republican. It will be an interesting race to watch.

Rand Paul needs to start distancing himself from these kinds of guys. If we ever get to a 2016 election the conservatives are not going to get cajoled into voting for some faux GOP candidate again.

He should say to the Lamar campaign that he doesn’t want to be used in the ads.

I don’t think he can. It is a public video and his position does not allow for saying yes or no.

I know he can’t force them to stop using the clip, but he could ask, just man to man. If they say no then well, he tried to distance himself.

Please, please, make that one go away. He's lost the mission.

He stayed too long in the muck and what good he had inside was walled off or corrupted.

He apparently now serves only himself and the Beast their Dr. Frankenstein has created.

He's a full diaper politician. Time for a change.

The state of Tennessee should be able to put at least one solid conservative in the senate. I think this guy Lamar is really a democrat from what I have seen of his actions in the senate. He does need a solid primary challenger, and NO endorsements or support from supposed conservatives.
