EL UNIVERSAL Monday July 08, 2013 03:37 PM The White House warned on Monday that former CIA staff Edward Snowden may not be allowed to travel to any other country but the United States.

The statement came after the US citizen was recently offered asylum by Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Bolivia.

The US Government keeps in touch through relevant diplomatic channels with all countries Snowden could travel across or choose for his final destination, said White House's spokesperson Jay Carney, EFE reported.

Carney's statement has been the first official US reaction after Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Venezuela recently offered Snowden asylum.

Carney further explained there were sufficient legal arguments for Russia to expel Snowden to the United States, despite the lack of any extradition bilateral treaty.

My dad's old passport had that page in it:

It didn't necessarily mean you couldn't go to those places -- if you were willing to pay (or could evade) any legal penalties.

So what? So the Obama inJustice Department can give him what he deserves?

Who gives them what they deserve?

I think that he has a surprise .45 slug to the back of his head waiting for him wherever he lites. Obama is pi$$ed and when Obama gets pi$$ed lead flies.

Laws? How quaint. If Vlad wants him to go, he’ll go, if Vlad wants him to stay he’ll stay.

Once again the Obama admin fails to learn from past events. The only way Snowden can be prevented from going to Venezuela would be to attempt to have F15s intercept the plane in international airspace. This alone would infuriate the World community. If the pilot of the commercial plane carrying Snowden refused to comply with the order to land at a US controlled airfield what will Obama do? Will he have the plane shot at? I think Russia did that with the Koreans during Regan's term and some say that was the beginning of the end for the Soviet Union. Suffice to say here that Obama can't do a damned thing without losing what little remains of American credibility. Small ball is all this community organizer knows and it will be the demise of our Nation.

We’ll see. I think Obama gets very angry when folks try to out him for what he has directed to take place.

You seem to be extremely concerned about what the “World community” thinks.

To catch a “29 yr old hacker”

As a American first and a peace loving World citizen second, I do weigh global blowback in all of my analysis. One dimensional thinking by those on the left is the cause of much of this idiocy.

Yet another "When did you stop beating your wife?" question from the Snowden fan club.

There's no need to shoot down a commercial airliner when you have plenty of planes to escort it.

So what is the blowback, exactly?

Lots of angry hypocrites fuming and thinking to themselves: "How dare the US enforce its own laws! We would never dare to enforce our own laws!"

Is the argument that the US should show weakness and roll out the red carpet for an indicted criminal?

No one is suggesting shooting down a commercial airliner. You introduced this fantasy scenario.

Enforcing US laws outside the borders of US? What a great ideer! (I know, I know, it’s not yours, but your hero’s in the White Hut.)

Do you really think that US citizens are exempt from following US law when they are abroad?

A lot of tax attorneys would be very interested in hearing about your novel legal theories.

Forcing a commercial airliner down isn’t a heck of a lot different then shooting it down. Both are illegal under International law.

OH, so according to you American citizens must drive on the right side of the road in England in order to obey US laws?

At this point, the US can ask other countries to extradite Snowden, as international treaties require. Your suggestion of intercepting flights, as happened in Vienna, violates international agreements signed by this country.
