Judge Confronts Zimmerman in Testy Exchange

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

A hostile exchange took place in the courtroom today where George Zimmerman is on trial for second degree murder as Judge Debra Nelson questioned the defendant about his plans to testify.

Nelson reminded Zimmerman that he has the “absolute right to remain silent” if he so desires and proceeded to ask him whether he was prepared to testify. Defense attorney Don West twice objected to the question, but was overruled by Nelson, who explained, “The court is entitled to inquire if Mr. Zimmerman’s determination [sic] as to whether or not he wants to testify.”

The judge then began asking Zimmerman how much time he requires to determine whether or not he would like to testify. West again objected to the question and asked for more time to speak with his client, prompting Judge Nelson to raise her voice and exclaim, “Your objection is overruled!”

The tension escalated as another of Zimmerman’s defense attorneys, Mark O’Mara, was overheard asking under his breath, “What is going on?”(continued)

Kathi Belich, a journalist following the trial for a local news channel, tweeted her surprise at the line of questioning, writing “I have never seen that in more than 30 years of court reporting.”

It was sickening. Yes, the Judge has the right to inquire...but not before the defense is over and NOT LIKE THAT

MOM’s reponse shows just how unusual it is

Just a guess...but it looks like the judge is covering all her bases for the MSM. She mostly stands with the prosecution but she took this opportunity to separate Zimmerman from his attorneys and stand with him (a Hispanic) over his defense.

As prescribed by Saul Alinsky (Rule #13) "identify, isolate, escalate [i.e. attack]". In this case, she isolated the defense from their own client and attacked.

Word to Obama and Holder. Good job, boys!

He’s ecstatic. We’re not talking about the NSA, IRS, Fast & Furious, Benghazi, etc.

She’s obviously been presented with her email strings and odd site visits as captured by the NSA.

Doesn’t this violate Zimmermans 5th Amendment rights?

"she took this opportunity to separate Zimmerman from his attorneys and stand with him (a Hispanic) over his defense."

I think it's a little different. I think she wanted to embarrass Zimmerman in front of the jury in order to point out to the jury that those who don't testify are often hiding their own guilt. The jury could not possibly have missed this exchange. Also, by springing it on him, with no warning, his lawyers had no chance to prepare him for it. It is not a common thing to happen, and the lawyers are supposed to be in a position to always be able to speak for their client.

That's what I think. Full NSA involvement...perhaps even for the jury.

If GZ is convicted, rest assured that the members of the jury have been threatened.

If not, Obama considered the riots more important than GZ's imprisonment.

Bammy and Holder (well, ValJar) are in charge...if they would rather have riots than a conviction...then so be it.

This country is at war! It is only a matter of time until such is recognized by the country at large.

Mark O’Mara, was overheard asking under his breath, “What is going on?”

The "judge" simply wants to give the prosecution the opportunity to badger the defendant while overruling any objections from the defense. It would be their Hail Mary and the defense knocked it down. The prosecution will say "silence = guilt" tomorrow which is weaker than "defendant admitted XYZ" (when he actually did not)

Doesn’t this violate Zimmermans 5th Amendment rights?

She carefully advised him of that right first.

I think she was trying to trap him into testifying since the case is going badly for the prosecution.

Take a close look at the Zimmerman trial.

This is what Obama’s “Social Justice” looks like.
