San Diegans overwhelmingly want Mayor Bob Filner to resign as the sexual harassment scandal deepens around him, according to a U-T San Diego/10News Poll released late Friday.
The survey shows city residents favor resignation by a 2-to-1 margin, 59 percent to 30 percent. Among those who favor resignation, 74 percent say he should be recalled if he doesn’t step down.
That belief appears to transcend gender, party affiliation, education level and socioeconomic status.
A majority of Democrats, Republicans and independent voters said they believe the Democratic mayor should leave office on his own volition. A majority of self-identified liberals, conservatives and moderates say the mayor should step down as do people from across education and income levels, according to the poll.

I don't understand it either. The master of sexual harassment is Bill Clinton, and to this day libs love him. But even his most ardent supporters can't run fast enough from Filner. I would imagine he is confused also.
I listen to The Roger Hedgecock Show on radio and he is having a toot about this. Roger used to be a Mayor of San Diego and has one of the best radio talk shows on the air, IHO.
Never heard of the rat Filner before ....that dude is committable.
What a shame that POS is the mayor of a city that is home to so many sailors and Marines. But then, I doubt they are directly affected by his actions being under the purview of the Navy.
I don't understand such a person being elected in one of the largest military cities. As a resident of San Diego while Navy, I voted in local politics. What the Frig?
Nope. Too late to force him out. He “apologized.” Dem rules say that’s all you need to do. It also guarantees re-election.

Perhaps, like the presidential elections, the MILITARY votes don’t get counted.

The city proper is just like any other large city....liberal. The outlying areas, that don't get to vote for mayor, are the conservative areas.
This guy won't step down. The biggest liberal in the city, Donna Frye, called for his resignation in a press conference and he won't do it.....yet.

Actually, now that I remember, you're right. Those who had residences off base/ship mostly lived in Chula Vista or National City or Imperial Beach and other outlying towns. They have their own mayors. I stand corrected.
It’s been very interesting to watch the big wigs of the SD Dem party get on TV and say while shaking that he must resign immediately for “disgusting” behavior. I have a theory that they wanted to give him an out but he is SO arrogant and soon we will be seeing something very damming like a video of the real Bob.
