Congressional members have introduced a bill to halt the pay of shooting suspect Maj. Nidal Hasan, who’s facing numerous murder counts for his admitted 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood.

Maj. Hasan has been drawing his regular Army salary while the trial goes forth, to the tune of about $300,000 so far, ABC reported.

Current law lets the military suspend pay of civilian workers, but not those who are on official active service, ABC said.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder what he’s been spending that $300K on? (or where he’s been sending it to)

I wonder if the Army could have busted his rank for refusing to shave... get him to an E1. Any FREEPERs out there with JAG experience??

Army also claims giving purple heart to the victims would unduly influence the jury. However, Hassan admits to the shooting to defend the Taliban.... I don't even get why this is going to trail (judge refuse the guilty plea)...

This treasonous sumbitch isn’t actively serving. He refuses to shave his cultist beard.

Send this bastard a hotel bill for the past couple of years, as well as a restaurant tab for three meals a day!

That should take care of some of that undeserved $300k.

I wonder if the jumpin’ jihadist is on furlough and facing a 20% pay cut next 3 months like the people tasked with cooking his food, washing his clothes and mucking out his cell?

nah, that’d be a violation of his civil rights....?

The Army opened that Barn Door when they allowed Sikhs to serve without shaving their beards.

Why hasn’t he been brought to trail yet? They had Zimmerman’s case revved and ready in under 9 months. They wouldn’t not want to prosecute this minor work place incident would they?

"I wonder if the Army could have busted his rank for refusing to shave... get him to an E1. Any FREEPERs out there with JAG experience?"

Article 133 of the UCMJ addresses "conduct unbecoming an officer...".
Article 92 - "Failure to obey order or regulation".

Since Hassan refuses to shave his beard, the articles above should be reason for separate counts for a quick court-martial which could reduce him in rank, pay, and a possible less than Honorable discharge. Without reading the entire UCMJ, does it allow for concurrent court-martial, including the murder charge?

I just don't get how the military judicial system works anymore. How could it take this long for Hassan to get to trial with SO many witnesses and a confession, and why has he not been charged with the above UCMJ violations?

BTW, a commissioned officer cannot be reduced to an E-1...that is an enlisted rating. However, he could be reduced to Ensign which is the lowest officer rank in the Navy.

This is just obscene and is a slam-dunk case of murder/terrorism in the name of allah, as the POS yelled out while killing our soldiers. I wonder if the military judicial system has been so corrupted by flag officers that are too close to the civilian politicians who need this to remain a "workplace incident". I believe this to be another Obama scandal - Commander-in-Chief. How else can you explain it? JAG experts???

I'd shave it in a minute - - with a blowtorch.

He took care of innocent until proven guilty when he cold bloodied murdered so many with so many more eye witnesses.

There is no rational reason this has taken this long to go to court.

He's got the biggest big screen TV in the prison. When it was delivered the guards had trouble getting it through the cell door.

Every minute of this jihadist mass-murderer’s trial and prelims should have been televised. Kids in schools should have been required to watch it.

Thanks Libloather.
