Pentagon considering affirmative action in combat

Senior military personnel are considering now giving women different military training than men, The Washington Times reports.

The effort was proposed by Massachusetts Democrat Rep. Niki Tsongas at a recent House Armed Services Committee hearing because so far, she says training systems do not “maximize the success of women.”

Though the armed services have promised that combat standards will be the same regardless of gender, senior officers are considering initially separate training systems.

Army Lt. Gen. Howard Bromberg, serving as deputy chief of staff for personnel, considers separate training programs to be more about considering all soldiers as individuals, citing a need to explore how the training process works.

“We’re not looking at it just for the integration of women,” Bromberg said. “We’re looking at it for the total soldier, because just as you have a 110-pound male who may lack some type of physiological capability or physical capability, he or she may both need to be trained differently. We’re trying to expand our understanding of how we train.”(continued)

Christian (I notice you didn’t capitalize that btw) and empathy have nothing to do with basic biology.

Women are the rate limiting step and the rate determining factor in the human reproduction equation.

Women can’t have more than about 1 baby per year and that’s pushing it if you do that sequentially. And only women can have the babies. 1 man can father children with umpteen women. But only women between about 14 and 40 can have those babies. 50yr old women don’t count.

As for ‘expendable male’, ask why patriarchial societies (most of Western Civ) have traditionally fought wars and them with only men? While men might be ‘expendable’ from a biological standpoint (wrt sheer numbers), you as a group are generally smarter (more high IQ men than women by a large number that increases as IQ gets higher), you are physically stronger, physically larger and aren’t ‘encumbered’ for 9m with that future human. Women are very vulnerable, physically, while pregnant.

As far as expendable again, why do men make wars? I haven’t found a good answer for that one...

I’ll be there to give aid and comfort to any Draft Dodgers that I deem fit for assistance.

Pretty much my feelings too

Sad, ain't it? If someone still wants to join, I'd suggest them to join the unorganized militia. I know a few school chums who did move to Ohio and they joined the unorganized Ohio Militia. Myself in that case, I am very slow, nearsighted and clumsy although when I tried basic firearms and archery, I'm a very good shot plus I'm into amateur radio, I guess I'd be put to use as a communications guy. B-)

You’ve inadvertently put you finger on one of the unspoken motivations for opening combat roles to women. The public will not stand for female soldiers (or Marines, or whatever) getting killed in combat. The anti-war protestors have got to love this change.

Fighting wars is about winning

Not how much we respect under qualified women

Much less the cultural and moral argument....which is clarity enough

These naive women ...will be sacrificed to sate the whims of unmarriable ugly feminists who hate the military anyhow

If their lack of grit and capability kills their fellow soldier then it won’t be about all that righteous stuff

Which is precisely the issue

Women who can handle war and violence and prolong mortal stress like an average...not exceptional ..man

Are rare as unicorns

Making that an integral part of ones line troops baring desperate contingency....is foolish and will cost lives

But never fear....the media will lie or just not report

Just like they did the little blonde girl...Jessica something

Or early carrier girl pilots etc

you’re still a hypocrite and have no empathy for moms who feel the same about their boys as you do about your daughter. rationalize it however you want.

you have a nice day.

No, I’ll help them. Our military is turning into a politically correct tool of the New World Order. By that time it will certainly not be serving the best interests of the United States.

And for someone to be subjected to a politically correct homosexual military that insures their death while furthering the agenda of the elites of the New world Order is cause for evading the draft.

I agree with you.

However, their sacrifice no matter how misguided deserves our respect..

In this world of wimps anyone volunteering to serve this great country deserves our respect and thanks..

We’ve got a CICh arming our enemies while degrading our armed forces and burdening them with dangerous/ludicrous ROE.
Lots of opportunities for Amazons and cockknockers, but why would any normal young person want to serve, unless drafted.
He’s right.

Every American that dies in combat needs to be revered and remembered for their sacrifice.

I think you confuse making a sacrifice with being sacrificed RE: Benghazi. I doubt anyone here argues against honoring those who die or get wounded serving. This topic is about affirmative action based standards versus merit/capability based standards.

Our enemies can care less how diverse or fair our forces are. AND it is sheer stupidity to provide our enemies well trained targets to shoot at.

I'm also seeing us as become the tool of the New World Order. I asked in 1983 just for craps and giggles when I was 17, "what if the USSR became the US and the US became the USSR?" I then added, "what if we, the US, ever became the Evil Empire?" Well the way things are going, as my tagline says below, Pogo Possum said back in 1971, "we have met the enemy, he is us!" We are headed that way especially when we are sticking our noses in the Middle East such as Syria, Egypt and Libya as well as the adventure in Kosovo. I never thought I'd say this but I think Russia is more on the right side in the world, except with Iran, than we are now.

In addition to a little wisdom from Walt Kelly's Pogo Possum, I also refer to Mark Twain, "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it."

You could not be more wrong as I said in an other post.

The Russians hope most of America shares [that] sentiment. The average Russian hates America and Americans Ive been there in the last year or so and Ive seen it...

Putin is playing his hand, although I’m sure he has no love for this traitor [Snowden], but its an opportunity to harm the USA aided by the usual suspects here..[in the USA]

If some young girl is going to be drafted into a politically correct, lesbian infested combat unit that will be ordered to adhere to bad rules of engagement that will almost certainly insure her death, you darned right I’ll help her.

And to think that she would die for some entity that is absolutely against all things American is unacceptable.

Thank you and Welcome Home to you.

I love our military, it’s history, traditions, those who served, died, etc. It’s beyond disgusting and maddening to see what’s happening before our eyes.
