George Zimmerman's brother is trying to warn Trayvon Martin's family about the additional pain and suffering they could go through if they try to bring a wrongful death civil suit against his acquitted brother.
As of July 30, many people in the country still labor under the illusion of the images painted of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman on the night Zimmerman shot and killed Martin, an unarmed teen from Miami. For example, erroneous reporting about the 911 call led many to believe that Zimmerman racially profiled the teen when NBC News later admitted the tape was aired out of context when it was reconfigured due to cutting and splicing the media tool, prompting a legal suit by the accused in the murder case.
Likewise, a judge ruled that information about Martin's fighting tendencies--just days before the fight with Zimmerman--could not be revealed to the jury during the Seminole County murder trial. And Judge Debra Nelson also ruled that photos of the dead teen holding guns and appearing to exhale smoke could not be used either. School expulsions for alleged wrongdoing were absent from the court, too, and the media largely ignored derogatory reporting about Sybrina Fulton's son.
The respect shown the victim was good in the sense that too many crime victims are revictimized after a crime by defense attorneys seeking to get off guilty clients. And Mark O'Mara, Zimmerman's attorney, was not allowed to do that to the memory of Martin. Yet the jury found in favor of the defendant anyway because the law showed he was not guilty of premeditated murder--or racial profiling.
A civil court, however, will allow the victim in addition to the accused to be presented in their entirety, factually. And that means the truth about Trayvon Martin's past will come back to haunt his mother and family if they move forward with this case. So George Zimmerman's brother is merely stating the obvious rather than trying to threaten the Martin family from moving forward. After all, they surely don't want the school where Trayvon attended to enlighten the country about how their son was expelled from school due to his antagonist behavior to authorities and his alleged criminal activities on the premises. And they don't want media reporting about his fighting tendencies, and how he felt he was good at it. Do they?
The Martin family can continue to enjoy the blind support of many in the African American community and elsewhere if they let this sleeping dog lie, but if they take Zimmerman to civil court in a wrongful death lawsuit then the gloves will come off. And no parent wants their child remembered for the things they did wrong. Nor do they want the world to know their child might have egged on the fatal blow that was dealt them either. And that's why Zimmerman's brother seems to think they will not pursue a lawsuit against his brother, according to the Huffington Post, telling the media outlet that "things that might not be flattering to Trayvon or his family" would come out.
Chip in ten bucks, just give up a big mac, you will feel great every time you remember it.
The entire Zimmerman family has had it’s future damaged, it will take everything they have to survive.
I think it’s foolish to assume that Trayvon Martin’s parents worry about their son’s reputation. Heck, look at the way the kid was neglected while he was alive? Look at how well they raised him?
No. They’ve pushed it this far, they are prepared to push for more publicity and the dollars they hope that it brings.
Don’t forget that the Media will quarantine the worst aspects of the testimony with their editorializing. At the same time they will amp-up anything that shows Zimmerman in a bad light. What else is New?
There’s a 3rd act in this 3-Ring Circus — the Obama Administration doing its best to stir resentment in the African community. This is just a cheap tactic for them. It’s been done in other ways by earlier Democrat politicians. The Martins are just pawns in a bigger chess match.

I suspect they're also looking at the money the Martin's got from the HOA settlement. I'd bet money, marbles and chalk those lawyers end up with most of that before this is over.
This wouldn’t be the “usual” kind of wrongful death suit — this is the entire left wing against one man. Wherever the “parents” are getting their money to fly all around the country, stay in fancy hotels every night, and eat in restaurants three or four times a day, that’s where they money would come from to hire the lawyers — the shadow would-be government of the leftists.
Even if you think they’re still paying for another trip somewhere every couple of days, recall all those professionally made protest signs at every protest around the country. Somebody’s paying for those.
For these leftists, an outcome with whitey knowing that he’d better not try to defend himself against one of “our sons” is a very good investment no matter what the cost.
i’m seriously someone who shy’s away from a fight. In this case I would say, “Let’s get this show on the road!”
As a parent who raised 3 sons I suggest to Mrs. Martin to be very careful of wanting financial gain in this case. You might just not want to hear what your son was REALLY up too!

Civil court will tarnish the halo of Trayvon. They won't let that happen. Their current "ban stand your ground laws " sideshow will be a money maker for the foreseeable future.

If St. Trayvon is their patron saint of injustice, why don’t all those blacks and smarmy whites just pony up? Isn’t Jay-Z’s worth in the billions? What about Jamie Foxx? Oprah? It seems to me there’s no lack of money for them to take up this cause celebre if they wanted to.
In short, Trayvon is the archetype of young black males.
He represents all that is bad about America. He has no good attributes.
The fact he is dead is a good fact
Frankly I don’t know that all of Martin’s dirty laundry coming out in court in a civil suit will do anything to diminish his halo in the eyes of the blinded black community. Look at how much we know now about his drug use, possession of stolen jewelry, streetfighting, headbanging, et al and they still ignore that to propagate the myth of “he should not a gotten outa da car”.
Well I think it ridiculous to base you hopes on any semblance of black pride in the Martin family.

Your solution doesn’t end up with whitey face down in a mud puddle with a black man’s boot on his neck, waiting for the last bubbles to stop.
So, they’ll not choose that.
Surely they can do that after the robbery, no?
The family will go for a civil trial, and all trayvon’s faults will be called smears and stereotyping while we are shown family members in tears.
