It means that even Obama’s people think that he is such a weak person that he cannot be criticized at all, or he might very well crumble.
In truth he is no longer “the chief executive” of the United States, but already he is on the path that Clinton was on in his final time of office, obsessed with his “legacy”, having surrendered all decision making to his flaky subordinates, with the prime directive to squelch any scandals that could derail him.
His speeches of late are just exercises in bathos, “an abrupt transition in style from the exalted to the commonplace, producing a ludicrous effect.” But his fall has not been that great, because he was never exalted in the eyes of anyone but his followers in the first place.
As time goes by, he will become more and more deferential to Hillary, who has already been chosen as his nominee-replacement.
Yet anything that criticizes him now is truly painful to him and his followers. They hate it, resent it, and will bitterly attack anyone who does it.
We should all buy Obama masks for Halloween this year and dress like the Obama clown.
