Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman has invited the rodeo clown who caused a stir this week when he mocked President Barack Obama during an act at the Missouri State Fair to come perform in Texas, saying the negative reaction to the act amount to liberals targeting this man for personal destruction.
In the act, during the bull riding competition, the clown wore an Obama mask and the dialogue suggested Obama get run over by a bull. Politicians on both sides of the aisle condemned the performance and the clown was permanently banned from the Missouri State Fair. Future clowns performing at the State Fair will be required to undergo sensitivity training.
But Stockman, never one to shy away from controversy, said attacking the clown was attacking free speech and invited him to perform in Texas.
Liberals want to bronco bust dissent. But Texans value speech, even if its speech they dont agree with, the congressman said in a statement. From [late liberal writer] Molly Ivins to [conservative Republican Rep.] Louie Gohmert and every opinion between Texans value free and open political speech. Im sure any rodeo in Texas would be proud to have performers.
Disagreeing with speech is one thing, Stockman said. Banning it and ordering citizens into re-education classes for mocking a liberal leader is another. Liberals have targeted this man for personal destruction to create a climate of fear.
The liberal reaction is straight out of Alinsky, Stockman added. They want to crush dissent by isolating and polarizing anyone who questions Obama, even if its a rodeo clown with a harmless gag. The idea to create a state of fear and make people afraid to trivialize Obama. No one tried to personally destroy the rodeo clown who wore a George H.W. Bush mask.
Stockman has been a virulent opponent of the president, and threatened to initiate impeachment proceedings during the fight over gun legislation.
Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman
This guy is awesome. Invited Ted Nugent to SOU as I remember. He should primary Cornyn.
Damn...
Cruz, Stockman, Gohmert. Texas is lucky.
You know, Alinsky said that ridicule of your opponent is your most powerful weapon. The libs are afraid that that will be turned on the ‘boy wonder’. God knows he is a prime target for it. Marine corpse. What an idiot.
I love it! Glad he’s my congressman!!!
Texas - What America used to be
“Politicians on both sides of the aisle condemned the performance....”
.
What a bunch of a$$ki$$er$.
Exactly.
BTW, I think there is a good market opportunity right now if you want to open a sensitivity training business.
My congressman is probably in drag.
Rodeo clowns have been making fun of Presidents for years. I remember when Lyndon Johnson was the butt of many jokes, including the recent one with Obama.
As far as I’m concerned - anyone who willingly goes out and plays tag with a half ton of enraged bull has earned the right to do just about anything.
Excellent. Thank you for posting.
More recently, in Game of Thrones TV series, they used masks of Bush as decapitated heads on stakes. No outrage from the left about that. Explained away as a cost-saving measure. “We just used what we had around.” Right. No Obama or Clinton masks lying around.
You know we've become a full blown police state when clowns are forced to undergo "sensitivity training." Americans don't want to laugh anymore. Thanks Barry.
Very telling. It’s not the color of your skin that matters—it’s how thick (or thin) it is...
What a breath of fresh air.
Stockman completely understands the game plan and the Alinsky tactics the left is employing. Reeducation camps for those who would dare to mock the pseudo-messiah.
One can only hope that Tuffy becomes a rallying point against the insanity that is choking the life out of the republic. Over 40,000 likes in 2 days and gaining momentum.
Local news tonight in their usual fashion only reports half of stories but did include statement from the guy who is head of the Rodeo said the clown had not been invited. Went on about family friendly, non-partisan and all that garbage. Looks like we’re going to have to start calling and sending emails to him to issue the invitation.
I’ll call. They just did a story on Fox & Friends about it.
