He wants something.
What could Julia Aswang want?
A deal, probably.

I don’t think what he did was right, but just what sort of government would I be defending by going after this guy?

If I thought this was still my government, I might consider him a foe but it’s obvious now that conservatives and libertarians are considered non-persons by this government.

Surprise compliments for Drudge from Julian Assange? Hmmm,,, I think that goes under the category of “Buttering Your Bread”. Julian knows who the American power brokers are in the new media. He has something to say or will have something to say very soon, and wants to pave a smooth and silken path for his highly flammable ideas yet to be heard.
Julian is probably needing some notoriety or mass attention of some kind. It gets lonesome being a world famous hide-away rebel when the pursuit is stopped or seen as old news.

It would not surprise me if Julian reached out to genuine locked up criminals in this country, as he understands our American ambivalence on criminals and anti-heroes, meaning someone like (Gasp!) Bernie Madhoff, who I suspect is still rather proud of the fakery he carried on for all those many years.

Has Rand Paul come down on the side of the Islamic Brotherhood in Egypt? He opposes aid to the military, right? Is that based on the law prohibiting such aid when a coup has occurred, or because he opposes the military in principle?

I’m sure some FReepers will now assure us that this means Drudge and Rand Paul are fake conservatives.
