‘I Believe That Obamacare Is Bad for America…and So Does the President’: GOP Rep Sparks Outrage
The Blaze ^ | 8/17/13 | Dave Urbanski

As Rep. Dan Webster (R-Fla.) ran down the 40 votes he’s cast to defund Obamacare in a public meeting this week, Webster added: “I believe that Obamacare is bad for America … and so does the president.”

With that many constituents in the Winter Haven, Fla., town hall Thursday reacted with shock and outrage, with audience members exclaiming, “No he doesn’t!” “Tell the truth!” “So does the president? Please.” “Stop lying!”

Webster attempted to explain his reasoning, saying there have been many changes to the Affordable Care Act that the House and Senate have been passing, which Obama has been signing, but vocal audience members didn’t seem to be buying it.

Here’s raw video of the exchange, which begins at about the 1:30 mark:

Since when is a right a tax and a mandate?

Keeping and bearing arms is a right, but my right to do so does not form the basis for the Federal government taxing my neighbor to provide me a subvention to buy a rifle and ammunition, nor to regulate firearms manufactures on the plea of ensuring affordability of the exercise of said right should I be poor or improvident with my means.

Likewise my right to freedom of the press does not create a basis for the Federal government to interfere in the market for printing presses and paper to ensure my ability to exercise that right.

I will gladly cede the point that health insurance and health care are rights, provided they are understood in the same sense as the right to keep and bear arms and the right to freedom of the press. Actually, a good deal of Obamacare constitutes an infringement of our right to health care, as its taxes make it harder to acquire medical devices, and its regulation will shutter physician-owned hospitals.

The “ObamaNations” said that they were going to attack their critics at any town hall meetings. Kind of funny how the media missed that.

It’s in a penumbra in the Constitution right next to abortions.

They are hard wired to love 0bama. It is something I have never seen before. It would not matter what he inflicts upon them, there’s just no reasoning with them. They vote as selfish children, interested only in receiving what is promised to them. And when whatever is promised to them is not delivered, they don’t seem to mind. There’s always another excuse...”he needs more time”...”it is foolish to expect such a magnificent program to be rolled out without any glitches”...”if only the Republicans wouldn’t resist him at every turn”. And on and on and on. I just don’t get it.

If hussein didn’t think it would be bad for America why is he delaying it? Of course it is a disaster for our freedom, health, and economy. If hussein did let it go jnto effect (more) it would completely tank the economy right before the elections and he would have to deal with a GOP controlled congress.

We are watching the same phenomenon that turned the Weimar Republic into Nazi Germany. This sort of slavish, unquestioning devotion is the stuff that brutal dictatorships are made of.

I met one of these “people” tonight. I have finally figured out what this is... all of these true believers are communists... oh they hate that term and most of them do not think that they are but when one engages in conversation about these things, it becomes clear that these “people” embrace obama because of the communism that he ascribes to... all the while they will deny what it is that they use as the base of their ideology. I am more convinced today than yesterday that all of this will end horribly for Americans and America.

The hecklers in this crowd were the seniors in the back - three or four. Their first words were “what about us, what about seniors?” Then mumblings “when you have nothing.” and so on. All through the Congressman’s statement.

When he was midway trying to explain the inanity of messing around with yearly out of pocket maximums again we hear “.....we have nothing....”

These seniors wanted to hear the magic words “...at little or no cost to you...” Just like that frigging Hoveround advertisement that bilks Medicare/Medicaid out of billions.

The Congressman? I don’t know much about him...couldn’t hear much from what he said in full enough context to understand, but I’ll tell you this. If he was there trying to explain to his constituency why he voted to defund Obama care, then I have no quarrel with him. I am left from this viewing with only one conclusion: a very many self-absorbed, selfish seniors there complaining why they can’t get something for free. I am a senior and collect SS and I have insurance that I pay for through my company’s retirement and I would be ashamed to sit in the midst of these people and be identified with them.

While many in this country say healthcare is a right, I would counter that bearing arms is a right, too. One that is enumerated in the Bill of Rights unlike the healthcare they are trying to elevate to a right. Regardless, IF healthcare IS a right, it does not automatically mean it should be funded by the government. I can’t recall ANY of the weapons that I own having EVER been given to me by the government for my ‘right’ to bear arms.

You are not to far off..... This is what the goofy Socialist SOBs believe. This is how far they want us to go. Who is John Galt and I mean this literaly.

Until the takers have everything given to them they will not be “satisfied”. Until the producers are giving away every crumb that they accumulate from their toil and sweat, the FERAL Government will not be “happy”.

Is it too early to start mowing the weeds in America?
