Sen. Tom Coburn became the latest Republican lawmaker to link President Barack Obama to potential grounds for impeachment during a town hall Wednesday.
The Oklahoma Republican – who also said Obama was a "personal friend" – responded to a question from a constituent by asserting that the president's policies were approaching a legal standard for impeachment.
Without using specifics, Coburn cited "intended violation of the law" by Obama's administration, as well as general incompetence of some of his appointees.
"I don't have the legal background to know if that rises to high crimes and misdemeanors – but I think they're getting perilously close," Coburn said, according to a YouTube video posted Thursday.

Dr. Coburn should just resign, return to his medical practice, and let Governor Fallin name a replacement. He is mostly hot air, but was once among the most promising members of the House.

I agree, you did have a good intention I believe and God will actually bless you for having that even if mis-aimed. It’s asking the Lord for help with the mis-aim that’s the key. It’s the godless, self glorifying world in which good intentions always pave the road to hell. God corrects our errors without a single grudge even if the experience itself is a bummer. Being blessed with chastening sounds like a weird blessing but that’s what happens to people with hope. People with no hope are just tolerated here till they go to hell.
You err (1) by assuming this is concurrence with Obama’s agenda and (2) by calling anyone directly a fool (look at Jesus’ comments about that).
Now if concurrence with Obama can be seen on matters that Coburn shouldn’t concur, that’s a different story.
And no, scriptures about church discipline are inapplicable here even if they sound convenient.
The gospel reveals the great secret that our enemy is not people. It’s the devil and his demons. Once we focus our battle correctly then stunning spiritual victories follow.
