Jobs like McDonalds are usually high school kids and just those that recently graduated. That's a enter in the jobs market....when the left pushed several years back to increase their wages, they talked about not being able to raise a family on the salary they were getting. Which was totally stupid, no one works at fast food places have a family to raise...Its a teens job. Minimum wage is a crock that the left uses. When entry level jobs get higher wages, so does all the jobs along the union membership road....

Detroit has a catastrophic unemployment rate, so the Lefty solution is to destroy even more jobs.
Nobody ever accused them of being smart.

LOL! Is that sign for real? Or photo shopped?
Seriously, I wouldn't go back to one of these striking McDonald's when they reopened. Not unless the owner fired every striker and fumigated the place first.

Being flexible sure helps. This is a negotiation based on what CAN be done to improve the picture, rather than on what CAN’T (supposedly) be done to improve it.
The devil talks like he totally rules this place, but the big secret is that God’s willing to come in at once when called. And eventually God will rule it all, but that involves a housecleaning that God is putting off because He’d rather people all choose Him if they will. (And some won’t.)

Why stop at $15 an hour. We should pay everyone at least $526.32 an hour. That way everyone will be millionares in just one year!
Oh wait, what do you mean the Big Mac combo now costs $325 each? How did that happen?

Has anyone else around here scouted the local fast food joints to One of the local McD's had someone in a company uniform out in front this morning at Breakfast. Looked like they might be doing a survey, or something.
Otherwise, nada.

Most people I know got their first job at a fast food joint, where they were still under their parent’s health care. It was not a permanent venture as they went on to college or moved on to a better paying job. So, McDonalds could sell cheap food at a cheap price with cheap help. But, demanding 15 bucks an hour is just plain stupid. It would be like demanding a 2 dollar tip on every hamburg purchase.

There could, true, be something hinky about the $4.99 Chinese. Another possibility is that it’s family owned and run, and they don’t even bother with wages per se because they wouldn’t legally have to. They just want to get an empire off the ground and are willing to sacrifice while their vision progresses. And they go buy clearance food from groceries at end of code and other clever things that are legal and might not even be big sanitation problems (after all, sick customers mean failing business pretty soon). When American opportunity meets Asian opportunism, dynamite good things often happen for those Asians.

I generally do not eat at McDonalds. Only in a pinch. But this article has been around for awhile. It is mostly BS. The person who posted it is not a scientist. He doesn't even know what he is looking at. Looks strange doesn't it? Well lots of crap looks strange under magnification. The jelly like substance is probably corn starch. Under heat it jells like this. Not say you necessarily want to eat it but it will not kill you unless you ingest tons of it.
Unfortunately the Internet is the last refuge of the village idiot. Let a biologist look at it and ID what is in there.
Did you read some of the comments about it being nanotechnology put in by the CIA to control us? It is shame people no longer understand or take basic science courses.
There is enough real stupid stuff to hurt us without making up boogie men on the Internet. Just my two cents.

Yes, that kind of request or demand is a golden goose killing one. Context matters too.

Hubby and I have a standard Wednesday night ‘dinner night’. We spend between $10-15 and don’t eat fast food. We eat at places that have buy one get one free, Chinese food for 2 is $10, etc. We also use restaurant.com and coupons. The only things cheap at fast food places is their $1 menus and they are not appealing to us at all.

The comments are brutal against the strikers ... They sure are. Here's an example ... "That's what happens when you start having kids as a freshman in high school."

I can get a better meal in a subshop for $7!Holy carp, what'd you buy? $1 menu two spicy McChicken sammiches, any size drink for $1 and large fry for about $2 and change. Net with tax is under $6, under $5 if you buy the small fry.

I wanted a couple of double cheezeburgers. I know about the $1 menu. My point was that I could get a more satisfying meal at a subshop for $5 less.
