Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. told a gathering of about 100 people on Sunday that citizens who use their firearms in self-defense should have their guns returned to them within 48 hours of being cleared of criminal charges.
Clarke was a guest speaker at a free concealed-carry class held at Kochanskis Concertina Beer Hall, located on the citys south side, an establishment that made headlines last week after the owner of the tavern, Andy Kochanski, fatally shot a would-be robber.
While prosecutors have cleared Kochanski of criminal charges and agree that he acted lawfully in defense of himself and the patrons at the bar, the firearm he used to kill the suspect, 23-year-old Carmelo Matoz-Arzola, a Glock .45, had not been given back to him.
Before a packed house, the three-time elected Sheriff said that he is going to put pressure on legislators to enact a law that ensures firearms used in self-defense situations are returned quickly to their law-abiding owners.

I’m not up to posting all the pings, tags, or posting to every thread anymore, but I wanted you to know that I DO read them and thank you.
Sheriff Clarke notwithstanding, ALWAYS have a few backup weapons....just in case.
Why are Criminal charges filed if you are defending yourself?
I don’t know. Perhaps a PC District Attorney reads a police report that concludes or indicates ‘self-defense’ (with no action taken save holding the weapon), and then the PC DA starts thinking about elections and minority group protests and then decides later to charge the ‘victim’. Regardless, whether you are charged or not, the police will likely hold your weapon for a while and it is in that regard I say it best if you have more than one.
Comrade, Here in Dear Leader Obama's AmeriKKa, you are assumed guilty until proven innocent. Especially if you're white, or a White Hispanic. Just accept that fact and things will go much easier for you.

“Why are Criminal charges filed if you are defending yourself?”
Ask GEORGE ZIMMERMAN.
Against Scott Walker?
Against Scott Walker?
I doubt it.
Maybe later, or for Senator?
Nothing but confiscation, with a nice name.
The left hates it when normal people defend themselves.
So for 47 hours, the crook knows the normal person is disarmed.
The word “immediately” should replace 48 hours. Now the dead or wounded thugs’ homies and relatives know they’ve got a 48 hour window to find and off the defendant.
Freep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Sheriff Clarke looks mighty fine on horseback. Our governors usually ride around on Harleys, but my heart goes pit-a-pat when I see a man on horseback.

Gun Tweet of the Day: NFL Fines Jets QB for Finger Gun Celebration

The NFL launched a preemptive strike against playful celebration gestures and fined the New York Jets Matt Simms for pretending his hands were guns,
bleacherreport.com reports.
The website got the heads-up from Newsday sports writer Kimberly A. Martins Twitter feed. One wonders what impact a $7875 fine will have on a player pulling down $405,000 per year plus, plus, plus. Some. But the NFLs continued insistence that finger guns are verboten is the worst kind of PC pandering. Meanwhile, wheres the video or pic? Strange that the internets is bereft of Simms ballistic finger ballet. Or is it?
