Tacoma police said a fatal shooting in a Stadium District parking garage last weekend was a random robbery gone wrong and are asking anyone who might have seen two suspicious men in the area to call in tips.
Lawrence Howse, 54, arrived home at the Sky Terrace Condominiums shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday. He entered his code to open the door to the private garage and pulled his black BMW inside.
Thats when detectives believe two men slid under the door to gain access to the garage. Its unclear whether Howse saw them.
He was confronted in the secure parking garage and shot and killed, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said. It was a robbery that went wrong, a crime of opportunity.
A passerby stumbled across Howses body around 10:30 p.m., called 911 and started CPR. Howse died at the scene.
Police believe the suspects entered the garage from the south side. They likely fled north on Broadway.
Saturday night was balmy and detectives are hoping people walking in the area or hanging out on their balconies might have seen something before or after the homicide, like two men crouching in bushes or running down the street.
Police describe the suspects as two black men in their late teens or early 20s with average builds. One had a light complexion and was wearing a white shirt and dark pants, they said, and the other was wearing a dark shirt and dark pants.
Anybody who saw anything that they thought at the time was odd but didnt call it in, we would appreciate a phone call, Cool said.
I hope you are well armed, and capable of defending yourself against feral black attacks. They can happen anywhere.
There was a thread yesterday about the random jumping of bike riders in Portland by the feral youth. Seems to be all the rage in some neighborhoods.
bump
I absolutely hate the phrase...”robbery gone wrong”...like it was only suppose to be a robbery..******* morons
I've often wondered what a robbery "gone right" looks like.
It’s strange how the media think a feral black attack isn’t as serious when white people get robbed. All a feral black has to do to avoid any possible hate crime prosecution—as if—is to rob whitey after killing him or her.

Well, that sounds like profiling to me. I wouldn’t want to do that. People crouch in the bushes all the time...
Just checked the address. Yup. I ride right by that apartment each day twice.
Too bad Mr Howse wasn’t concealed carrying - WA State is a “shall issue” state (unless you’re a felon).
Just studied up a bit. A bike cop went through all the alternatives for concealed carry on a bike. Eventually, he came to the conclusion that for most bikers, a pepper spray canister mounted on the bike is probably best. You just can’t draw concealed carry from a bicycle very well.
Carry both.
A shoulder or ankle holster and a can of bear spray. Or have a open pouch attached to the handle bars where you could just reach into it and come out with a handful of handgun.
did he fight back?
RIP
Nobody is saying.
Spooky. I literally ride my bike past the building coming and going to work. My wife rides a worse neighborhood every day (the Hilltop). Man, this is nuts. I’m going to my friendly neighborhood gun store to chat them up after work.
I had the same feeling when the flash mob thing started. I decided to carry a gun with more ammo. I'm not sure just how disciplined those mobs are, though. Will they continue to press their attack after they've lost a few? I don't know, but I'm not counting on it.
Try a fanny pack in appendix carry position.
