Military Revolts Against Obama Attack On Syria

Mideast: The administration's planned strike on Syria is increasingly opposed by many in a U.S. military coping with the scars of two long wars, a rapidly shrinking budget and soldiers saying we're "tired, stretched thin and broke."

That sentiment was expressed by an active-duty soldier with a rank of Sergeant First Class in an email to Rep. Justin Amash. The Michigan Republican has been receiving, compiling and tweeting emails from current and former service members now being asked to commit to an ill-defined mission with an unclear goal in support of rebels mostly linked to al-Qaida and other unfriendly interests.

"The message I consistently hear: Please vote no on military action against Syria," Amash tweeted. Most objections relate to the lack of a clear objective in striking Syria and the muddled line between anti-government rebels and al-Qaida-affiliated terrorists.

The backlash against boots on the ground or even wings in the air has exploded on social media. Many in the military are posting photos of themselves holding signs stating they'd refuse to fight on the same side as al-Qaida in Syria. The photos went viral, with one post alone generating more than 16,000 shares on Facebook.

"Our involvement in Syria is so dangerous on so many levels, and the 21st century American vet is more keen to this than anybody," Business Insider's Paul Szoldra quotes former Cpl. Jack Mandaville, a Marine Corps infantry veteran with three deployments to Iraq. "It boggles my mind that we are being ignored."

A decade of involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, with many of the rank and file seeing the fruits of their victories squandered by the Obama administration's precipitous, ideologically driven withdrawals, raises the question why we should bother about Syria.

Obama should have considered he might need a strong military when he decided to gut them with budget cuts. If I was still in I sure wouldn’t have any interest in getting in the middle of Syria’s civil war. Where is the US interest in that?

"I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave."

I guess their oil is the only POSSIBLE reason to shed American blood for these people. It begs a question: WHY THE HELL AREN’T WE USING OUR OWN?? ARE WE MAD? (Don’t answer that.)

I'll take it a step further and say that a vote to go to war on the side of al-Qaida in Syria is an act of treason.

Obama and all democrats should be removed from office immediately before they get us all killed!

If Congress passes it, they can’t do a damned thing. If Congress votes no, and Obama does it anyways could it be considered an illegal order?

Same objectives! Kill the Jews, enslave humanity!

They were even allies in WWII until the Nazis breathed no more.

Isn't it time to finish WWII before we start WWIII?

Sunni Muslims have been at war with Alawite and Shiite Muslims for over a thousand years and no one ever paid any attention to their killing each other, so why all of a sudden has our President taken sides in this Muslim domestic disturbance? One thing I’ve learned during my 25 years in law enforcement is that when you’re trying to identify a motive in a criminal investigation, all you have to do is “follow the money” and it’ll usually come into focus.

The first clue came when we saw our President publicly bow and grovel before the King of Saudi Arabia (a Sunni Muslim). Could it have been because the King of Saudi Arabia financed Obama’s campaign? Remember, there are still large sums of money in Obama’s campaign coffers that haven’t been adequately explained.

If the King of Saudi Arabia now “owns” our President, it could explain why Obama has sided with the King’s Sunni Muslim Al-Qaeda rebels in this Civil War against Syria’s Alawite/Shiite government. It could also explain why Obama has prevented the development of U.S. oil resources and has effectively “killed” coal in the U.S. in order to keep our country dependent on foreign oil.

It’s evident that U.S national security isn’t threatened by this Syrian Civil War and the only reason we’ve entered into this fracas is because President Obama is “bought and paid for” by the Saudis. Now, we’re learning just how many in our Congress, from Boehner to McCain, are also on the Saudi payroll.

Our Secretary of State, John Kerry, just revealed that the Saudi King has offered to reimburse the U.S. for the cost of U.S. strikes in Syria. If President Obama sells the services of our U.S. Military to an Islamic Sultan, as he’s about to do, our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen will then become historic parallels to Ottoman Janissaries. Americans will then go to war shoulder to shoulder with their Al-Qaeda allies making Osama bin Laden so proud.

Other sources have reported that the Saudis attempted to pay the Russians to stop supporting Assad’s Syrian Government, but the Russians refused to be bought, and why would the Russians refuse to be bought by the Saudis? Again, just “Follow the Money.” The only reason the Russians would refuse to be bought by the Saudis is because they see more monetary gain for themselves if this disturbance in Syria escalates and hostilities spread throughout the Middle East.

If the U.S. strikes Syria, it will in all likelihood trigger a war that will quickly spread throughout the Middle East from Israel through Saudi Arabia to Iran. When this happens, nukes could start popping, the Middle East could become radioactive for a half life of at least 10,000 years, and Saudi oil would then become unobtainable on the world market.

As Russia has developed its oil resources equal to or possibly past the Saudis and are now considered the #2 oil producer in the world behind Saudi Arabia, the elimination of Saudi oil will make Russia #1 in the world. Russia can then name their own price for oil, and the world will have to pay. You have to hand it to the Russians, chess players that they are and looking at least five moves ahead, as they will have eliminated their competition and tricked their competition into paying for it.

Don’t look for a motive for the Saudi Sunnis, the Syrian Alawites, and the Iranian Shiites, as they’re primitive religious fanatics and don’t need a motive beyond their own insanity.

I ask you, just how insane do we have to be to enter into a war among the insane?

Sadly, Obama and his handlers are definitely insane. Lets hope there are enough sane people to stop this fiasco.

...the SIC (Slacker in Charge) is finally exposing himself, after his mysterious youth....his Arab financed education...going from a C student to a Harvard Law editor..????...yeah another Arab “donation” to help the slacker....street agitator to another well finance and Senatorial victory where he only voted half the time....as President it took him 42 days to respond to the BP oil spill...so he could steal 20 billion of which they only spent 4 billion in two years....Obamacare was “invented” in the senate three years ago...there was never a bill to vote on...it only evolved AFTER it was passed..Fast and Furious..loan scandal after loan scandal....NSA SCANDAL, IRS SCANDAL, Sebilus shaking down companies...then the Slacker in Charge goes to bed the night of Benghazi (hoping someone else would make a decision) and then went on for three weeks lying to all to cover his incompetence..(slacker)...after two years country after country in the middle east...turmoil..slacker did nothing...Syria gasses it’s own people, the WORLD is suddenly shocked (they started gassing a year ago under the slacker’s blind eye)...because of the US pass policies and leadership in regards to horrific circumstance the WORLD looks to the US....sorry world, the slacker is busy making up excuses for his lies about red lines....besides he’s so disappointed he can’t go to Hollywood for his weekly money grab and adulation fix...
Yeah the military is justifiably concern about “leadership” when the slacker has to make a decision, they already know what to expect especially when Hollywood calls or Las Vegas. He didn’t get his adulation fix in Russia

It's not the very first time.

(says a USAF veteran who endured a “lock down” when Jimmy Carter passed through a large DOD installation...SAC HQ)

I endured, and my next CIC was not insane.

I can't speak for all of my peers, but I can speak for a lot of them, past and present.
I absolutely knew there was an extremely high probability that I would die, in defending my country against an enemy attack, or while going on the offense against a designated enemy.
I accepted that probability.
Certain missions and locations were known to be almost suicidal, if the plan was ever activated or the base was attacked.
That was fair.
We knew what was at stake if we failed, and trusted we would not be wasted pawns, in a game we understood was not a game.

Under this administration?

I would have joined a military coup against an anti USA civilian leadership, knowing the probability was high that I would die or be imprisoned for the rest of my life. So we circle back to why my entire wing was on lock down, when Carter passed through... The oath to fight "against all enemies, foreign or domestic" is one that many swear, but few completely understand, untll they are faced with the unthinkable.
