At the end of this month, members of Congress will face a binary choice. The House and Senate will pass a bill to fund the government past Sept. 30, the last day of the fiscal year. That bill will either permit or prohibit funding for implementation of Obamacare. Members will need to vote for it or against it.
There will be no middle ground.
If the bill permits funding for implementation of Obamacare and a member votes for it, that member will be voting to allow the administration to send tax dollars to health care providers who perform abortions.
That member will also be voting to allow the administration to use tax dollars to force Catholics and others who share the view that abortion is murder -- or that artificial contraception and sterilization are intrinsically immoral -- to act against their consciences.
Members who knowingly vote for legislation that provides the administration with the money to carry out these attacks on the right to life, the freedom of conscience and the free exercise of religion will be complicit in those attacks.
It will not be as if these members just turned the other way and did not look as the Obama administration facilitated the destruction of innocent life and crushed the freedom of conscience; these members will have knowingly handed the administration the tools it needed to do these evil things.
How do we know that?
The government-run health care exchanges that will sell government-approved health insurance plans will be allowed to sell plans that cover abortion. All health plans sold through these exchanges -- and, eventually, almost all health plans in the United States -- will be required to cover artificial contraceptives, sterilizations and abortion-inducing drugs.
The federal government will give households earning less than 400 percent of the federal poverty level -- currently $94,200 for a family of four -- a subsidy to buy health insurance, but only if they buy their policy on the government-run exchange. The Treasury will pay these subsidies directly to the insurance providers.
In all cases -- because of the so-called "preventive services" regulation that requires health care plans to cover abortion-inducing drugs -- these subsidies paid by the Treasury will go to health insurers who pay for abortifacients that terminate human life in the earliest stages of development.
When Americans receiving the federal subsidy for their health insurance premiums buy a health insurance plan that covers doctor-performed abortions, the Treasury will pay tax dollars directly to a health insurance company that pays abortionists to kill unborn babies.
The administration will point to accounting gimmicks to claim that paying an insurance company tax dollars specifically to fund a health insurance plan that expressly includes coverage of abortion is not a federal subsidy for abortion. But the administration's arguments will be logically and morally indefensible. The fact will remain: The administration will take dollar A out of the Treasury and give it to insurance company B to pay for a plan in which the insurance company promises to pay doctors to abort babies.
A congressman who votes for a federal funding bill that permits funding of Obamacare will be voting to give the administration the authority to take that dollar out of the Treasury and give it to insurance companies specifically to pay for plans that promise to pay people to abort babies.
Then there is the attack on religious liberty and freedom of conscience.
The Department of Health and Human Services has issued an Obamacare "preventive services" regulation that requires virtually all health care plans in the United States to cover, without any fees or co-pay, sterilizations, artificial contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs. Many Americans conscientiously object to subsidizing some or all of these things. The Catholic Church teaches that all three are intrinsically immoral.
More than a year ago, the U.S. Catholic bishops unanimously approved a statement declaring this regulation an "unjust and illegal mandate" and "violation of personal civil rights."
"The HHS mandate creates still a third class, those with no conscience protection at all: individuals who, in their daily lives, strive constantly to act in accordance with their faith and moral values," said the bishops. "They, too, face a government mandate to aid in providing 'services' contrary to those values -- whether in their sponsoring of, and payment for, insurance as employers; their payment of insurance premiums as employees; or as insurers themselves -- without even the semblance of an exemption."
Congressmen who vote to fund implementation of Obamacare will be declaring to the world that they think they are going to gain something from that vote that is more valuable to them then preserving the freedom of conscience and the right to life.
Right now
Looks like House will first pass a Ocare defund CR with GOP only votes and send it to Senate which will ignore it.
Then Reid will pass a CR with O-care funding intact as he only needs 51 and there are no-where near the other 51 in Senate to stop it.
Then just before the shutdown Bohner puts up the Senate bill for vote and passes it with mostly Dems. Obama signs it.
No surpise there.

“Jellyfish Spine” Boehner as Speaker of the House is essential to Obama’s continued unchallenged destruction of the US Constitution.
Nothing will change as long as cave-in artists Boehner and Cantor are in leadership roles in the US House of Representatives.
If Boehner is replaced as Speaker with a fighter such as Col. Allen West, then the Articles of Impeachment for B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, can be quickly issued.
The problem is not with Obama, as he is just doing what Communist Tyrants are trained to do.
The problem is not with Boehner, as he loves to lose and wallow in the disgrace of being the worst Speaker of the House, EVER.

On Jan 3 this year the House GOP made Bohner Speaker again and what was telling was :
1) No house member ran against him to replace him with themselves. Not one. A few voted for others who were NOT running not even in House which was silly, but they didnt run themselves.
2) with all the whining on talk radio those SAME radio hosts were NOT challenging individual house members that they like, such as Lou Gomert TX , to run for Speaker themselves. They were not calling them out to step up.

Don’t know how true this is, but a few days ago someone (that would be you, Grarwoulf) said that the Speaker of the House didn’t have to be a current member of the House, that the majority party could elect anyone they pleased to that position.
May I respectfully suggest they remove Boehner, and tap Palin for the position?

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has verbally opposed the HHS Abortion Mandate, but supports Obamacare and has said nothing in support of defunding Obamacare.
Our bishops’ conference is Pro-Abortion!

Well I have the answer. I had it when I posted those challenges late last year to get someone to challenge Bohner when it was time to.
Lets use Lou as an example because he didn't vote for Bohner for Speaker so it cant be claimed he is scared of him.
Lou's job is pretty nice. He votes for stuff, or against stuff, generally his votes are the opposite of what passes into law and he is a hero in his district, and no dramatic cuts or shutdowns etc, his voters see no cuts in their lives, He is the hero and yet inconsequential
Now what if Lou got the Speaker's job?
Now Rush, Levin, DeeMint, ....and on... would accuse him personally of being the key man in executing the lefts agenda because he doesnt personally shutdown the government until Obama and Reid accepts all these cuts that Reagan never dreamed of forcing himself.
Alternatively the MSM and left would accuse him of starving the kids, stopping the troops checks, throwing babies and grandmas out of hospitals for shutting it all down to get cutting surrender from Obama.

To carry your discussion further, here are my two cents:
What is lacking in today’s body politic is a philosophy that can be advanced BECAUSE of the veiled threats of doom by the opposition.
For example, the manipulating, fear-mongering, threat of doom and gloom promoted by the supporters of Government harm to our Republic that a certain Republican action would “shutdown the Government” SHOULD be a clarion call for Republicans to shut down the Government to right the wrong that the Government is doing.
To not shut down the Government is to support continuation of the wrong that the Government is doing.
Whatever wrong is being protected by the supporters of Governmental wrong, SHOULD BE our signal that we should focus on undoing what they are trying to protect.
What is required to right the wrong is known to all warriors: THE COURAGE OF ONE’S CONVICTIONS.
These are times of whimpering, timid, compromise-away-one’s-values in the false hope of achieving the equivalent of a 1960’s group hippie hug.
These are times when we wait silently for a warrior to swoop in on a white horse and make everything nicey-nice again.
These are times when people who vote choose politicians that promise pie-in-the-sky to them get put in charge of increasing the debt burden on our Grandchildren’s descendants.
These are the times when the obvious solution to these problems can be seen by “The Man in the Glass.”

In 2007 she took over the house but the Senate was pretty much split 50-50, and the GOP still had the WH. So pretty much like GOP she had control of just the House.
But By 2010 she had a bigger house majority, Dems had the WH and 60 in Senate.
Then she got Obama-care to Obama’s desk and its law.
Pelosi had a plan. Pelosi wanted to win. Pelosi wanted results. And she got much of her agenda passed into law. Her Dem members love and respect her for it.
I can give you a hint what she didnt do to get there 2007 to 2008) ... take advice from DU.
