PRAYER FOR GOD'S PEOPLE

"Fear the Lord, you holy ones, for nothing is lacking to those who fear the Lord. The mighty will grow poor and hungry; but those who seek the Lord will never go wanting." (Psalm 34).

Mighty God, Creator of the Cosmos, you have entrusted to us the care of this planet. Breathe your loving Spirit into the hearts and minds of us all. Instruct us in your ways. And most of all, enable us to establish justice and peace in our homes, our work sites, our nation, and this world. You alone are Lord. You alone are the Mighty One. You live and reign forever and ever. Amen.

Stunning, LUV...we actually have members of our congregation following along on their iPads; we have a Wi-Fi connection at church and the password is printed in the bulletin.

We don’t do debit/credit cards; but you can set up an automated weekly EFT on the church’s web site!

Good satire has to have a bit of truth to it, right?

It does! I love the Blue Letter Bible on my iPhone. Has side-by-side versions to help with study. There are good things and bad things about the modern ways. :)

I’d like to be careful about approaches to Christian persecution and I’m a Christian who has faced flak of actual consequence for his outspoken faith.

Persecution is opportunity in disguise. It’s a chance for a mighty God to meet a mighty puny Satan. Most of its terrible mien isn’t even in the actual bad things that happen to Christians but the fog of lies uttered by Satan as those things happen. “Oh you pitiable people” is chief among those lies. When believed that really saps a spirit of victoriousness.

We should pray for those folks... not necessarily to get bailed out, but to get a spirit of digging in and winning against the spirits of unrighteousness! Because advances of the kingdom will follow if they do!
