Three people were reportedly arrested on Friday for openly carrying Civil War-era pistols during a pro-gun protest outside the Texas Capitol. Gun rights activists tell TheBlaze the arrests were unlawful as it is legal in Texas to openly carry a pre-1899 antique firearm.
Terry Louis Holcomb, 44, identified as a Huntsville-area pastor, and Scott Douglas Smith, 50, a military veteran from San Antonio, and Gary Hayes, a quadriplegic, were reportedly arrested by state troopers in Austin and charged with disorderly conduct, which is defined, by law, as an action with a firearm calculated to alarm.

Nothing like arresting a disabled veteran for a civil rights protest.
Can’t we arrest those that illegally arrest us?
Don’t let that mean terrible awful dangerous scary quadriplegic go on a rampage!
kidnapping.
Citizen’s arrest a man of law? You’ll be thrown in jail so fast you won’t have time to ask “why didn’t we do anything about it.”
The “disorderly conduct” charge is a loophole anti-gun advocates are pushing. Apparently they’re taking the meaning of “alarm” as liberally as possible so if you so much as see a gun on a person you can call the cops and say it disturbs you and demand they be arrested.
Texans should call their legislators and demand it be amended so these morons can stop tying up the courts on stupid arrests.
WTF is wrong with Texas? This needs to be fixed by Monday.
Texas isn’t as freedom loving as they would like us to believe.
And what’s with the anal probing? (Traffic stops in Texas

TSA at DFW are gropers, no body scan if you have metal in your body.
Of course it is also becoming a big brother / police state, simply with a benevolent but still autocratic system that has suspended basic constitutional tenets for various ends that all seem to justify the means.
L.E. and intel in America has become para-military, they are above the law, enjoy special protections and using the veil of secrecy actions that are blatantly unconstitutional are implemented.
This is no longer the home of the “free and the brave.” It's just another luke warn and stagnant social democracy as in most of Europe.
Now you've gone ahead and committed blasphemy. The lemmings here will be all over you for it. LOL.
The ones who pretend everything is right to a fanatical extent, even when things are not. The ‘Texas can do no wrong!’ apologists. You’ll see them here, soon.
A fear laden people is fearful because it does not fear the Lord.
Anyone remember when Kevin Ballew was shot 43 years ago in Washington DC?
Police raided his house for some reason. He jumped out of bed, grabbed a black powder pistol and was shot down.
Police claimed he shot at them but his pistol had only one shot fired and it was found 90 degrees away in the wall and one foot above the floor showing he was shot before he fired a shot while falling.
They tried to claim his house was raided because he had a sawed off shotgun. No sawed off shotgun was found. I don’t believe he was found guilty of anything.
quadriplegic? The man was moving his arms and torso.
This is disgusting.
You are 100% correct. I love Texas but I would not trade anything for where I am at. Yep, they will be here soon.
Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) coined the term “jackbooted thugs” to describe the ATF actions in the Ken Bellew raid when his committee investigated the case.
Other than the economic stature, I’m starting to enjoy living in Mississippi even more...
Sue these officers personally and see how long that lasts. They need to payout big time.
