No good deed goes unpunished...........
Friggin’ ridiculous - in that part of PA, every boy probably has a pocket knife in their pocket at some point during the day. For him to be suspended because he turned it in is to turn common sense on it’s head.
School is back in session, so we have lots of new zero tolerance stupidity stories to look forward too.
There should be an award handed out every June for the stupidest zero tolerance enforcement of the previous school year.
Lesson Learned: NEVER do “the right thing” with liberals... they will only hold it against you.
This is the result of government workers having to follow rules that ensure they are not trusted with common sense management decisions. When employees think for themselves, they add risk and liability to the government.
Communism.
Everywhere you look.
By people who don’t even know it’s what they’re promoting.
Zero Tolerance = Zero Intelligence
White Boy?? More than likely.
Clear firing lanes around his tree stand the week before archery season opens.
Check.
Engineer "vacation" from school for the first week and a half of archery season.
Check.
This kid is brilliant.
Wish I could have thought of something like that.
'Course when I was in high school everyone carried a pocket knife. Heck, we'd take shotguns and rifles to shop class to work on them.
I have a nephew (straight A student) that was suspended for bringing a pocket knife to school. He got suspended as well, but I don’t think it was for 10 days. Usually, they want to send you off to some kind of alternative campus where they put all the misfits that the teachers can’t handle and are always getting into trouble.
Others may differ, but I see this as a positive seminal event in the life of this boy and his friends.
Learning early in life of the moral cowardice and intellectual bankruptcy of the public school system is a wonderful asset that will help protect this lad and others from the greater lies and injustices that await them in the future.
Another zero tolerance outrage.
Sometimes good sense can mean accepting God’s grace rather than sacrificing yourself to pointless rules that urge you to badly torpedo what is good over a human regulation. The student could have simply left and gone home with the item, or while there discreetly put it somewhere that it posed minimal risk of getting used for anything bad. (Maybe into a coach’s area, without saying anything, or later sending an anonymous note explaining what happened.) And been more careful next time.
Boy, how times have changed. Not for the good.
I remember the good old days....I carried a pig sticker when I was in school wayyyyyy back when.
When I grew up, every body had a pocket knife and carried with him all the time.
commie/fascists want to turn our youth into sissies.
blessings, bobo
When I was in high school I took uncles’ twelve gauge shotgun to shop class to refinish the stock. No one said a word when I put it in my locker or when I took it out to go to shop class. At that time fully half the pick up trucks had gun racks with loaded guns in them!!!
Idiots. The school, districts, and administrators. All of them are idiots.
I was in HS in the early 80s. I had friends in shop class who were building crossbows for their projects.
I’m sure that practice was ended. Actually, I’d be surprised if they still offered shop classes.
They are teaching a lesson to the kids. Not the right lesson.
