A gunman with a military-grade assault rifle opened fire on a pickup basketball game in the Back of the Yards neighborhood late Thursday, injuring 13 people and dragging the city back into the international spotlight for its violent crime problem.
At least 16 bullets were fired into Cornell Square Park around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, wounding a 3-year-old boy and a dozen other people. All are expected to survive, many with wounds to their arms and legs.
Shell casings found around the blood-soaked basketball courts were 7.62 mm rounds, which are traditionally used in AK-47 assault rifles and rarely found in gang attacks on Chicagos South Side. Though gun violence has long plagued the citys impoverished neighborhoods, offenders almost never use military-style weapons.

Gang wars. That’s a telling graphic. If commie libs had any intelligence I would show it to them and it would sink in. Instead, I’m sure they would blame it on the GOP.
Interesting factoid: the Soviets went with that 7.62 diameter because of war-time exigencies and they were tooled for it in three different bullet sizes.
I’m sure Fineswine, Barry, Top Ramen and Biteme are aware of things like this.
Why was a 3 yr old child out at 10:15pm at a basketball court?
Were the shooters all “non-felons? Were they NRA Members? Did they possess legal firearms? Did they have “permits to carry concealed”?
Oh, well, a “military grade” weapon (iow, it shoots actual bullets) was used.
Thanks smokingfrog.

” It was the gun.”
Not just the gun itself but the attitude of the gun. The gun had a bad attitude...as though it knew who would be pulling the trigger.
