APPLE is the new most valuable brand in the world, according to a closely followed annual report.

The report, to be released on Monday, is from Interbrand, a corporate identity and brand consulting company owned by the Omnicom Group that has been compiling what it calls the Best Global Brands report since 2000. The previous No. 1 brand, Coca-Cola, fell to No. 3.

Not only has Apple replaced Coca-Cola as first among the 100 most valuable brands based on criteria that include financial performance, this is the first time that the soft drink known for slogans like “It’s the real thing” has not been No. 1.

Hard to believe. When you are selling sugar water, I would think your profit margin would be far greater than a hardware and software company. I guess times really have changed.

The Amoco gas station brand name was worth $.02 to $.04/gallon over competitors in the same area. Amoco was also more attractive to women drivers. A consulting company discovered these facts while my employer looked at acquiring another chain.
Then the geniuses at BP entered the picture and destroyed this advantage.

No doubt. BP is loaded with stupid and I would never put that gas in my vehicles. For more than one reason.

Doesn’t Apple get 90 cents of every dollar from iTunes?

This is temporary.

Apple is becoming a Chinese company.

Rapidly. Bring back US manufacturing now.

30% is Apple's cut. That's in line with other digital vendors (I've researched this as a potential publisher, and a 30% cut for the seller is pretty much right in line with what I've seen.)

I have no idea. I have never owned an apple. I have never down loaded a tune from I-tunes.

I never understood why the I-Pod was heralded as a huge advancement when digital music and the MP3 where around a full decade before.

I am no great audiophile, but I am incapable of telling the difference in either form of storage for music.

I understand that those who own an Apple always praise it as the best. If so why are they constantly getting the new model? Also, why is it always exponentially more expensive than other platforms?

Look around. Everything is becoming a Chinese company.

When the Communist Dictators of China are more friendly to businesses than the U.S. government, we are in serious trouble.

An extended shut down of the Federal Government would do wonders for this country.

Pepsi Max for me, no Coke, no apple crapware either. No accounting for tastes, in soft drinks or hardware/software and that overall is proved by the ignorance of all the people who voted for and support the current dictator and his minions.

Cant possibly be true. I’d say The Cross is the most known but I haven’t done a survey.
