Wood Stove Ban Made Universal
http://freepatriot.org ^ | September 30, 2013

For many years, those of us in the Arctic have been fighting the wood stove ban. The use of PM2.5 particulates has been an issue pursued by local agencies as a way to swipe at those who choose to live beyond the borders of traditional civilization. That attack has now extended to the rest of the United States.

In a stunning move, the Environmental Protection Agency decided to ban most of the operational wood stoves in the U.S.

In those places where there is you, God, and nature, the wood stove has represented that one thing that can sustain. Going after local PM2.5 particulates has been one of many methods to attack those who choose to live independent of government. As Off Grid and American Prepper survival report reveals:

The EPA’s new environmental regulations reduce the amount of airborne fine-particle matter from 15 micrograms to 12 micrograms per cubic meter of air.

This means that most wood burning stoves would now fall into a class that would deemed unacceptable under these new draconian measures. The EPA has even launched a nifty new website called Burn Wise to try to sway public opinion.

On their site, while trying to convince people to get rid of their old stoves and buy the new EPA-certified stoves, they state that these older stove must be scrapped and cannot be resold.

We don’t need to know what the regulations say since their meaning changes to support the agenda. All we need to see is the abuse that’s taking place to kjow the epa kust be stopped.

Most people want a clean environment but the epa is so far off the reservation they can’t even see the TP

First, they came for the people with woodstoves.
I did not speak up, because I lived in the tropics . . .

And then they came for the hammocks.....

I get up on the wrong side of the bed every morning lately since the installation of the police state. Maybe thats why it irritates the living chit out of me to listen to some BS from a guy who is living down in the Phillipines or wherever as an expatriot. Or as I interpret it an ex patriot which means no longer a patriot.

When the current country of his choice has a coup or a civil war he will be screaming at the gates of the US Embassy for protection because he is an American and has his rights. He will be begging to get on an American ship or plane and get the heck back home to the good old USA.

I have lived a long time and growing up and until I was in my 30s, it was no one’s business what we did. We had a driver's license and car license, and only had to have car insurance if we wanted it - our life was our own. Starting in my early forties, more regulations started. At some point, we had to have car insurance or get a big fine if we were caught not having it.

Bit by bit it kept happening. Now, I have to have my car inspected every year or get a fine. If I didn't have medical insurance, I would get a fine thanks to Dumbo Hussein. If I wanted to sell my house, I'd have to change a lot of things to meet the requirements to sell a house. If I didn't have a house, I probably wouldn't meet today's requirements to buy one. You see I'm not black or Latino or an illegal alien so I'm out of luck.

I don't meet the requirements to get food stamps because I tell the truth.

I don't get a free phone because I tell the truth.

I pay income tax every year so other people get food stamps and free phones.

There is something wrong with this picture.

The EPA doesn’t pass laws so they can kiss my a$$.

As for Congress; see my above sentence.

I am not supporting them, I merely looked at them and saw no reference to taking people’s stoves, then commented on that. If you find the part supporting people’s assertion that they are requiring people to turn in their stoves, please post, I could not find them.

I agree with the rest of your comment, EPA is evil. It’s the worst thing Nixon ever did to us. I had run-ins with them and they don’t play fair.

Thanks for the link. It had nothing to do with stoves and who can sell them, but it was interesting. I put up some links about EPA’s wood stove program. I was surprised that this c p has been going on since 1988!

EPA has no Constitutional authority to do what they do. Congress may have the power to pass relevant legislation, but instead they shirk the responsibility and set up these bureaucracies that issue regulations that Justice then considers to be laws. Congresses role is to pass a law stating “let there be clean air” and THIS serves to authorize EPA (or OSHA or whatever) to issue unconstitutional rules that we live by or face prison. No accountability, can’t vote them out, and usually no review of what they are doing. EPA declared CO2 to be a poisonous gas!

Anyway their wood stove rules say that all new wood stoves have to meet their standards which they set. Existing wood stoves are left alone, and it looks like you can build your own as long as you don’t make a business of selling them. I agree with you that this is wrong and that they have no authority, I’m just relating what I read about it.

“We don’t need to know what the regulations say”

Well, I will disagree with you there, driftdiver. If you debate a congressman and show ignorance of the regulations he’ll discount your argument.

A few years ago there were threads about some food safety bill, and the claim was that in the bill, Monsanto had put in provisions making it illegal to collect seed from this year’s crop to plant next year. So I called my rep and he laughed, and said, you got that off the internet, right? And it turned out that in all 400 or so pages, which I then read, there was no such provision. I wasted a bunch of time and congresscriter saw me as a loon.

If we are to end EPA we must be accurate with facts, just like we want “journalists” to do. And EPA must either end or become reasonable and science-based.

Build a rocket (stove or mass heater).

http://www.richsoil.com/rocket-stove-mass-heater.jsp

I’m using a Hearthstone Heritage for whole house heating, and though a non-catalyst type, achieves pyrolytic secondary combustion within an hour of cold start. Am considering the rocket type for greenhouse use.

Think of it this way . . . if the government chooses to ban wood-burning stoves, why do protectionists think the government will help them?

oh that’s where you are wrong. The EPA DOES care about a grid down situation, and wants us all to DIE, especially those who will be in hard winters.

The natural gas shortage in New Mexico was due to a rolling black-out in Texas- winter 2011. Not all compressor stations use electric driven pumping. However, electrical grids rely on natural gas peaking units to maintain stability, and a casualty in gas deliveries could initiate a cascade failure. Therefore, the natural gas which keeps Atlantic coastal cities thawed during the heart of winter, also fuels the gas turbines holding back the night of the dark ages. No pipelines, no electricity, no heat...what was the question???

Most of the heat from burning wood is liberated as burning gases. A wood heater chock full of charcoal just won’t deliver as much heat as flaming wood.
