More than nine out of every ten employees at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are considered "non-essential" and have been furloughed in the federal government's shutdown.
Reuters obtained an EPA guidance in which the agency said it would "classify 1,069 employees, out of 16,205, as essential,"...

If only 1,000 employees out of 16,000 are essential, fire the other 15,000. Let ‘em find work in the private sector and save the taxpayer money.
Seriously. How ridiculous.
“Over 93% of EPA Employees Considered ‘Non-Essential’”
Heck, I coulda told ya that last week...
Paging Captain Obvious?
I would have assumed the entire agency would be classified as non-essential.
93% is a lowball number.
That is actually good news, get rid of them all. In addition to delaying Ocrapacare we should have a bill that defunds the EPA.
bttt
Here is the Master.
1) Waste, fraud, and abuse
2) Essential workers
Government should be cut by 50%, as a start. And next year we can do that again.
How many people where you work are “non-essential”?
If they aren’t essential, fire them!
Downsize government. This going on a few weeks will show everyone we don’t need to give half of our income and live as tax slaves to a bloated system that provides us with little benefit.
Other than national defense, we don’t need the feds to be involved with anything.
And even that they are blowing.
The Master of the Obvious will get the job done.
Which begs the obvious question. Why the hell are we ever paying for ANY non-essential government employees?
I’m here!
See? The shutdown isn’t all bad.
If it opens the eyes of people as to how bloated and wasteful the US FedGov has become, then it’s worth it.
If shutting down the government means sending the EPA home for a while, then I’m in favor of letting this shutdown go for as long as it wants.
The whole damn department is dangerous to normal Americans and our economy.
We should do what the new Aussie PM is doing.
Close them down!
totally agree. The longer we drag this out the better. Education is on display. People have forgotten that we actually have state governments to do all the things Washington has somehow taken over. The whole concept of our nation is upside down!
Over 93% of EPA Employees Considered Non-Essential
That seems a little low to me...
Everybody knows that is coming right?
