Heh. Legal age was 18 back then, nobody bothered carding people who were college age. All that aside, I think the ID is a fake, but it’s just incorrect to say “No student IDs in 1981 had bar codes.”

Age was 18 in 1978 here in Iowa as well when I started at Iowa State.
Yes I think the ID in this post/thread has been debunked more than once.

Yes, one person has already admitted to making it up (post #52). But, to disqualify it because it has a bar code (technology that had been in use for 15 years prior) is simply incorrect.
