Van Jones Celebrates Ted Cruz’s ‘Humiliating Defeat’ on CNN

In light of a deal struck by Senate leaders to reopen the government and avoid default on the country’s debt, CNN’s Van Jones cheered what he viewed as a “humiliating defeat” for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) who expressed his dissatisfaction with the compromise, while saying he would not take steps to block it.

Jones appeared on CNN shortly after the Senate announcement along with his Crossfire co-host Newt Gingrich. Wolf Blitzer began by asking the former Speaker of the House if he would have voted for this legislation if he were still in Congress. “I have no idea,” Gingrich said, explaining that he would need to see the fine print on the bill before making an assessment.

Van Jones, meanwhile, hailed the bill as a “big deal” that could ultimately affirm the “governability of the United States.” He praised “heroes” who worked behind the scenes like Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in contrast to Cruz, who “went down to a humiliating defeat today as he deserved.”

But for Gingrich, today is a “very sad day” for America, “because the president adopted a strategy of vilifying his opponents and refusing to negotiate and it worked.” Without “fixing” the Affordable Care Act or entitlements, Gingrich said we were just “kicking the can down the road.”

Naturally, Jones saw things differently, commending President Obama for refusing to “negotiate with a party that has been hijacked by its far right-wing.” He added, “The president stood up to the bullying. I’m proud of the president today. I’m proud Harry Reid today. I’m proud of McConnell today. I’m proud of Amy Klobuchar. I think Ted Cruz should be ashamed of himself.”

Jones summed up his point like this: “Nobody wins today, but Ted Cruz loses today.”

If I understand it right if you are young and don’t want to enroll in Obamacare you don’t have to.

But if you don’t enroll you have to pay a fee. If you don’t they can withhold it from your income tax refund or debit your checking account. Wait till that happens.

Barry will have to change the law of the land again. From what I understand you have to have a min income for the subsidies to hit. Those under the limit it’s medicaid if you can get it. That is up to the states (i think). For Rat-freebie run states, they vote their own freebies and go into debt. Guess who will be bailing them out? Rat-run states and cities whom have had free run of the checkbook should NOT be able to be bailed out and still be running the freebie scam. but all it takes is one crony Federal Judge (as here in Az) to stop any enforcement of our smuggling laws, voter id. They have taken over all three branches of Govt plus the media, education, the military, it’s over. wonder what Country Justice Roberts will be fleeing to when the Country falls?

Humiliating? Cruz is still on the job, sucker, and you aren’t.

Cruz is the fastest rising stock in the political market right now. He's shined more light on those coackroaches than they've seen in a while.

Did anyone else but me notice the day that all the libtards started using the word “bully”

It was new ‘No-Bullying’ school programs and if you did this or that you were a ‘bully’...

It was very sudden.

You could tell it was a contrived use of a word for a specific purpose. Where do these decisions come from? Libtards are nothing if not organized in their zeal for implementing communism.
