Rep. Matt Salmon (R-AZ) said on Wednesday at the Heritage Foundation-hosted Conversations with Conservatives press event that House Speaker John Boehner has promised him that the Senates Gang of Eight immigration bill is dead in the House. I very recently had a conversation with the Speaker and if immigration reform moves, its going to move piecemeal, Salmon said in response to a question from Breitbart News. And it will go over one bill at a time and if there is any kind of conference, it will be on specific bills we send over. It will not be on the Gang of Eight bill. While Boehners spokesman Michael Steel has not immediately responded to confirm what Salmon said, if true it means the push for amnesty is dead.

TRUST IS EARNED and once lost... it is almost impossible to regain. FU boehner... I despise the very air that you breathe.
> “IT AINT BROKE, SO IT NEEDS NO FIXIN.”
No, it’s broke alright but the fix that the dems and the RINOs have planned will give the ruling class a permanent voting bloc to win elections.
FIX IMMIGRATION WHEN CONSERVATIVES CONTROL THE HOUSE, THE SENATE, THE WHITE HOUSE AND THE SUPREME COURT!
Not all... 18 in the Senate are not and about 70 in the House.
We have been sold down the river.
Was that before or after his 5th glass of Merlot? He’s had a rough day, falling down is hard to do...
your speaking the truth
You believe him? He said he would abide by the Hastert Rule. Did he? Will he? The Senate will look at him cross eyed, he’ll start crying and amnesty will become the law of the land.
I don’t trust backstabbing liars. I will never trust Boehner again.
that is why he placed there after the Hammer resigned.
he is a K Street front man so is Ryan owned by Adelson and Cantor and Kennedy and Goodlatte ........
Bonehead has the largest number of ex aides now working on K street in DC .
why do you think the libs in DC Obama media have never touched him or Mitchy Judas .
I’m pretty sure a couple of weeks ago he said he wouldn’t break the Hastert Rule. So much for that. The GOP (like the Dems) is full of self serving liars.
Then you should agree that Boehner has to go and soon!
Yep! That will be the final nail in the coffin.
In early 2011 the new elected freshman tea party members were watchful and observant but not informed completely about what and who really controls DC (I grew up there in DC proper and on Virginia side, Alexandria).
I think the tea party members are much more aware and hip now to how the game is played. I am proud of the true tea party conservatives in Congress.
What I am concerned about is the money. There has got to be a large grassroots fund to sustain our tea party members in Congress, to shield them against the corrupt influence of K Street.
Money is corrupting by its nature but is crucial in wars. Pray for wise and seasoned money managers to forego greed, and back out tea party republicans with everything they’ve got.
That's a bit off topic but I appreciate it.
Yes but...
There is a little problem with doing that.
Not one GOP house member is willing to take his job.
Too safe and easy to stay where they are,
> No one will take Boners job, call your favorite pet house hero and ask him to run against him as speaker, I dare you. He will never return the call.

Get on the phone and call your favorite House member to run as Speaker and tell us what he said,

Get someone to run against Bohner, its that simple.

You should challenge them (your favorite house members) to oppose him as Speaker by running for it themselves now , this losing and then scape-goating whining stuff is long past old.

Watch, Bohner wont be challenged.
Actually I was just mentioning that on another thread when you pinged me, see see #142
I will watch but I won’t take your side of the bet.
I think Boehner’s betrayal of conservatives with his violation of the Hastert Rule has open a lot of eyes. Now we may see some tea party leadership emerge whereas before Boehner was ‘promising’ he would stick by the Hastert Rule.
Boehner’s promise fits more with your single bullet analogy. I don’t believe constituents of tea party conservatives are going to take this lying down.
Nope, they wont challenge him at least not in the next 14 months.
Not one wants his job, That would take a real Braveheart and there is none in GOP brave enough to be Speaker.
His job is to be the the goat. They all want him to do that while they file their safe votes.
It was leaked that he warned his caucus last week that he would increase the debt limit with or without them to avoid a default, ie to avoid him getting blamed.
I documented the final stage of this drama here Tuesday night.
Boehner's Shutdown End-game play (you won't like it) 10/15/2013
Agreed. The debt limit bill is a blip and it will have to be re-visited again in a couple months anyway.
Immigration and O-Care are the real issues and Obama is doing poorly on both fronts.
I disagree. Now it IS different.
There is such a thing in trial law called shifting the burden of proof. The burden has now definitely shifted to those who would defend Boehner.
Before todays’s cave it was NOT possible for a conservative member to stand on principle and challenge Boehner. There was no concrete evidence that Boehner would go back on his word and betray the base. There was only rumor and speculation about Boehner. And in Washington everything or speculated needs verifying.
But now there is proof.
What that means is that an interested conservative member can now call benefactors and donors for funds to put into a campaign to oust Boehner.
You seem to think on an emotional or character plane.
I think on the financial and investment plane.
Boehner sold out, simple. And now he will receive favorable press treatment like McCain. He will be in the protected category.
You heard Reid last night and this morning about how ‘disappointed’ he was with John Boehner. That was a message that Boehner’s skeletons in his closet would be revealed for all to see.
Boehner has to go and I am sure there are many congressional members and staff members who are now working for his removal as Speaker.
Not happening. Not at all.
Wishing ain't making. Those reasons dont counter the fact that none of those House Tea Party fwightened wabbits are willing to take his job.
WE need leaders not mice.
I showed you how I was a lone voice here calling for them to challenge him and not one would.
