Advocates of recreational marijuana use are looking to an upcoming vote in Maine as an indicator of whether the East Coast is ready to follow in the footsteps of Colorado and Washington by legalizing cannabis.
Voters in Portland are being asked whether they want to make it legal for adults 21 and over to possess -- but not purchase or sell -- up to 2.5 ounces of pot. The Nov. 5 vote is being eyed nationally as momentum grows in favor of legalizing marijuana use.

As to the recreational side, there must be a 100 laws on the books already that could cover someone/anyone doing something wrong while under the influence of marijuana (or more importantly as you noted, THC). To me, it’s scheduled 1 to help keep a police state going these days. I don’t think it is good AT ALL for minors our young people (I believe it introduces arrested development) but to deny keeping it illegal only increases the black market and the pushing on our youth is crazy...My opinion only of course.

some are against making drugs legal and giving druggies their open drug use because some might have seen what drugs do to those closets but also to others who were hurt in the process of drug use.
And these same people refuse to evangelize, the thing that will most likely result in people not WANTING to abuse themselves in such a fashion.

I’ll even answer my own question! Because there are so many blasted stereotypes about what evangelizing is. If you don’t have the nerve to speak well to your neighbor about the Lord who has done so much for you, at least you can support other evangelists who DO. Evangelism is selling God, and it doesn’t have to be as blatant as a hellfire sell, though that is good in certain circumstances. God blesses, and if God has blessed you and you share that, people will want to be blessed as well. Really, God has gotten a lousy rap when He has made this entire creation. Argh, we are the silly ones.

What's wrong with you that your mind swayed immediately to bestiality? Sick. I'll illustrate one a little bit better than you. What if you like bench pressing 400lbs. Your personal decision, right? What if a bunch of people got together and restricted your access to the weights so you could not bench 400? Let's call it a public safety concern. Can't have you running around potentially able to harm others because of your personal choice so from here on out, weights are illegal. Think its too far outside the realm of possibility? Okay, you have a 500hp vehicle. That can definitely do some damage if you choose to open it up. Let's outlaw those engines. My point is, we have strayed from personal responsibility. You don't like a plant, your choice. Don't get all liberal and tell others what they can and should do; you want the "state" to impose your views on others while you ridicule liberals of doing exactly of what you advocate, state control of another human being.

May come as a shock to you, but I don't smoke marijuana. I did at one time and decided it was not right for me so I quit. End of story (that little personal responsibility thing I mentioned earlier).
Psilocybin is again up to the individual and as marijuana is not physically addictive. 151 proof alcohol is cool to sell to a wet behind the ears 21 year old though, right? You're cool with that? It can kill the individual (even first time user) with more effectiveness than a plant or fungi.
