My Mother was born within sight of the Alabama state line tho technically in Florida. Her Father owned land in both states.

I believe Mother served sweet tea with at least 99% of her meals. It was good too.

Until each state has its own “Obesity Task Force” full of freeloading, busy-body, dumbasses who are too lazy to find a REAL job, Amerika will never be an official commie NANNY STATE.

I don’t know, maybe we should start with dictating what folks with EBT cards and Obamacare can buy and eat. Only fresh veggies, meat, beans, rice, and stuff from the periphery of the store. Water and milk. That’s it. See how they like government then.

I once had a guy from England on my crew while I was Recreation director at a Summer retreat.

He brought his own hot water pot and tea (I remember his brand was Typhoo). He would offer everyone else but we rarely had any.

A number of years ago I had the privilege and great pleasure of visiting the South. I found that there are many things that are near and dear to the good and proud Southern folks. One of them is their sweet tea.

I double dog dare these lib fools to outlaw sweet tea..... all hell will break loose and it might be fun to watch the South kick their butts.

I enjoyed the good folks, their wonderful hospitality and I became very fond of their sweet tea. I also liked their boiled peanuts. I remember a spicy shrimp with peppers on rice dish that was to die for.

Anyone stupid enough to attempt to separate a Southerner from their sweet tea deserves the out-and-out butt whoopin’ they deserve.

My wife, my mother-in-law, father-in-law, and a good 90% of my in-laws drink sweet ea, and those who don’t have medical reasons not to.

Sickening. What business is it of the government's how much sugar I want in my tea?

And in a state whose motto is, "We Dare Defend Our Rights." More like, "We Dare Defend Communism."

I could never get on board with sweet tea (I only drink tea hot, and unsweetened), but boy howdy is this poking the hornet’s nest. People who love sweet tea, LOVE their sweet tea!

If the government wants to fight obesity they should take carbonated sodas OFF the food stamps

Rethink Your Drink

Apparently this comes from the CDC-Centers for disease control and prevention.

Dr. Thomas R. Frieden is the Director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) and Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease

Registry (ATSDR).He was New York City Health Commissioner from 2002–2009.

Alabama targeting sweet tea is like New York City targeting high-rise buildings or taxi cabs. It’s part of their culture.
