PORTSMOUTH — Janet Groat is so passionate about gun sense she said she could spend the whole day talking about it.
The Portsmouth woman recently started a state chapter of Moms Demand Action, a national organization that started Dec. 15, 2012, a day after 20-year-old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children and six adult staff members in a mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
Their mission is to create a culture where laws and business policies reflect common sense and are not just the result of political posturing, Groat said.
Nationally, eight children die from gun violence every day, according to Groat.
“My son is shocked that there are many states where you can be blind and still own a firearm,” Groat said. “Children aren't thinking about constitutional ideology. They are thinking about what makes sense.”

After all, we have a Democrat pResident who is a homosexual, even though he tries to hide it.
In a few more years, homosexuality will be a resume enhancer for democrats nation wide, not just in California and Massachusetts.
The Constitution also provides the means of changing and amending it. Though like the uneducated idiots that make up the majority today in what was once America, they know they can just steal what they want.

Truth is I really think a lot of these misguided people mean well. They are just ignorant of the consequences should their wish for disarmament come true.
Does the lovely Ms. Groat support abortion? (bet she does) How many children die every day from that caring and compassionate procedure?
I thought the term “children” included all those trayvons out there who get killed in drug deals, drive bys and shoot outs with cops.

Well, you’re right in a sense when they want to inflate the numbers, but under that definition her number would be much much higher. 8 children....8 out of 330 million. If it is by accidental gun related death, then she should be able to name them individually. I think they just pulled it out of their ass myself, and they weren’t thinking about the statistical significance of it (2.4242 X 10^-8 %)

If you have a different definition of "children" the linked table has data which will help to determine the number of children (by your definition) who were murdered.
They count teenage gang-bangers as "children". In 2010, we had a total of 1277 homicide victims under 18, from all causes. Source: Homicide victims by age, race, and sex. 60% of homicide victims 13 to 16 are black, and 65% of homicide victims 17 to 19 are black, and most of the victims are likely in gangs.
