Monticello Mayor shouting obscenities, accusing officer of being Klan member on night of DWI arrest

The Mayor of Monticello spent several hours in police custody last weekend after he was arrested for DWI. He has since plead not guilty to those charges. Friday we obtained surveillance video from the night Gordon Jenkins was held by the Monticello Police Department. YNN's Eva McKend has the exclusive report.

MONTICELLO, N.Y. -- "You still work for me, don't you," said Jenkins.

A firm warning from Monticello Mayor Gordon Jenkins to the Police Officers who arrested him last weekend.

"You are working overtime aren't you? I think you should be suspended because you are working overtime and you shouldn't. We'll figure that out tomorrow," said Jenkins.

During the several hours Jenkins was held after he was arrested for DWI and other charges, he shouted obscenities at Police Officers and referred to them as Nazi's and racists.

"They say you are the Klan, I believe it now. You are trying to lock every black mother****** in this ******* town. I believe all the f****** n****** and what they be talking about, about you. You lock my black a** up tonight. You got everybody else locked up," said Jenkins.

We're showing you just a small portion of video where we were able to remove the profanity.

The Mayor said he was illegally arrested and at one point said he felt like he was a having heart attack and needed medical attention. He also accused the officers of giving him welts from the handcuffs.

Throughout the ordeal, he maintained his innocence.

"You can give me ten years to life mother f******* You guys are going to pay for this. Mayor or no f****** mayor," said Jenkins.

There were accusations of racism throughout the entire ordeal.

Many of the Mayor's supporters including the ones that came out in full force Tuesday night continue to stand by him because they feel as though he has been unfairly targeted, a message the Mayor alluded to when he was under arrest.

"Maybe I should resign for Mayor and f****** be just a f****** Al Sharpton around here. Call Dennis Lynch, you know his f****** number. We're going to have an emergency board meeting tonight. I'm going to ask Rochelle to have an emergency board meeting," said Jenkins.

At several points, the Mayor accused officers of being insubordinate.

He said he has been trying to get the Attorney General to intervene.

His lawyer spoke on his behalf Friday after the Mayor's license was suspended.

"I know that the Mayor was very upset and has been upset by the treatment he's received from several police officers. I don't think it's everyone. I think the Mayor was aware there were contract negotiations beginning again this week and he felt that there might be motivation on the part of Police Officers to harass him and I think that's part of his story," said Michael Sussman.

Sussman says more will come to light the proceedings move forward.

The Mayor is due back in court next month.

To use the NFL lingo, C’mon Man! Don’t you know it is ok for a black man to use the N word, but if a white honkie uses it, you will have Jessie and Al on your A$$ in a heartbeat.

I think it was Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson. It was a long time ago. It was in American History book, I think the lesson was about the importance of an independently informed citizenry.

And as far as I know, the complete verbiage was: In a Democracy, the people do not always get the Government they want, but they always get the Government they deserve.

Your argument is with them.

Enough ignorant non blacks keep the blacks in power in savannah, ga.....soon, VERT SOON, to be the next Detroit. They only hire administrators who belong to the Natinal Association for Black Public Administrators. Black RACISM is rampant baling with budget deficits and an ever soaring crime rate. The NAFPBA member police chief cooks the books to make it look like crime is down. They refuse to make reports of crimes. The black “leaders” have used taxpayer funds for trips to China, Yugoslavia, and multiple trips around this country. The FAT a$$ city manager hired a van for $150 to drive city council members HALF A BLOCK. They are a toxic combination of inept and corrupt

The cancer is exposed for all to see

No, few will see it.

A mid sized town in WI had a drunk as a mayor and he was thrown out in (I think) a recall election. However this mayor was not only white but leaned to the right. This guy will get a pass.

“He’s done a lot for all of us,” said Shaniqwa Hines just before the packed meeting of some 50 residents.

Jenkins’ Saturday night arrest was his third during his five years as mayor.

My parents lived in Monticello in the 70s and 80s. It was a nice town until the Democrats realized they could get state money to build truly unnecessary “affordable” housing for the summer help who came to the resorts each year. The thinking was that Brooklyn had enough minority Democrats to keep its plantation gates shut so some should be imported to swing a Republican area to a Democrat cesspool. I see it worked.

whoever said that is beyond an idiot
You mean Jesus deserved Herod

peasants in Ukraine deserved Stalin

Uganda deserved Idi Amin Dada

I refuse to believe that

To my knowledge, none of those were elected governments (which is what the Framers were speaking of... the same Framers that asserted that only a moral people could successfully maintain a republic).

You know, when you drive under the influence of alcohol and get pulled over and fail the breath test, it’s a done deal. So is this Mayor trying to tell us that Blacks should be allowed to drive drunk? What kind of madness plagues some people like this?

It’s looking that way. And yet they will be hawks when they can make a killing off of defense contracts.

Having family in GA, two other cities come to mind, and perhaps you know of the. One rather blatant one— Macon, GA with the black mayor who embezzled city funds, federal investigation and disappeared to Africa— now wants to run again (the whole desolate empty mill town run by slumlords and white guilt liberals who let him get away with this).
Second one is much smaller Sparta, GA —in middle 60’s first black councilman traded his connections/federal funding for his (black and white) pals, like all politicians (with fish farming money and other largesse federal bucks) in a demographically (not ownership of property though) majority population black city & county. Supported by the very needy non-existent industrial base— which got the money, then failed and the businesses (sound familiar, Terry McAulliffe mr solar green, auto king?) moved out. The history of the county/town centers on cotton and timber, then depression after WWI and the boll weevil destroying the crops— so there is that. Like everywhere— areas looking to bring in industry to make, something, and then the market disappearing or the workforce incapable or unionizing. So the graft of working the federal dollar seems to be a commonality (like when FDR ruled the land).

Savannah is a cool town and the shipping/railroad/ intermodal keeps it having a purpose— it would be a real shame to become Detroit (and more dangerous if so).
