Poll: If voters had known they’d lose insurance, Romney would have won
Daily Caller ^ | November 22, 2013 | Alexis Levinson

If voters had been aware last year that they might lose their health-care plans when Obamacare went into effect, Republican President Mitt Romney would be sitting in the White House today, according to a poll released Friday.

A Wilson Perkins Allen Opinion Research survey conducted from Nov. 18-20 asked voters who supported President Barack Obama in 2012: “As you may know, millions of Americans have lost their insurance plans despite President Obama’s promise that, quote, ‘if you like your plan, you can keep it.’ If you knew in 2012 that this promise was not true, would you still have voted for Barack Obama?”

In response, 23 percent said they would not have voted to re-elect Obama, while 72 percent said they would still have voted for him. The largest number of defections were among female voters ages 18-54, 31 percent of whom said they would not have supported the president.

An ABC/Washington Post poll released earlier this week found that if they had a do-over, Romney would win 49 percent to 45 percent. The difference is within the margin of error of 3.5 percentage points, but Obama polls a lower percentage of the vote today than he did in November 2012.

Romney was the candidate because HE put Obama in, in
2008, but having his surrogates attack Gov. Palin.

The rat Romney is responsible
BOTH for the pRes_ _ent, and his
RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE, and for gay marriage.

Whatever the excuse, if 4 MILLION conservatives had not stayed home and would have voted for the conservative against Dr. O we would not be in this mess.
4 million votes would have given a loss that would have had him seeking solace at the Chicago Turkish (gay) bath with Reggie and some weed.
Incredible picture huh?

EXCELLENT POST! My sentiments exactly. Too many consevatives acted like they were just voting for most popular at a high school dance.

4 million stayed home. Real shame for our republic... will it be here for the next election, or with 1 to 3 SCOTUS appointments, and a senate with no ability to override the rules they just passed, and with as many executive orders as he wants or can get past SCOTUS... will we even have an election as we have known them to be?

Pray for the republic of the founders.

No, INCORRECT. Even Romney said that worked for a small state was probably not best for the US as a whole and it WOULD be revisited before it was upheld. Go back and look at the debate and pressers before and after the debate.

But if you know you made a bad decision to not vote for Romney and this makes you feel better.. then keep telling it to yourself every night before you sleep and you'll feel fine by morning.

Now what about the 1 to 3 appointments o will get to SCOTUS? Can you say there is NO chance Romney would have put on 1 to 3 leftists? Or there is the chance he might have been swayed not to pack the courts with the liberals?

Then you can NOT sleep well ever, cause that is what is going to happen and I can assure you of that.

The senate was just a for runner of what lies ahead and it is NOT pretty.

Sleep well..

Last I read, Romneycare wasn't working in the small state either. Romney was a terrible candidate. Take your complaint to the GOP Elite.

He admitted it wasn’t working in his state and would not be a good transition to the country size scale it would have had to.\
In five different forums he said it was going to be R Pealed and recast to realities of the country.
A bit of the mechanics are discussed here : http://www.mdmbas.com/Blog/files/great-healthcare-debate-how-romney-ryan-and-wyden-will-save-medicare.html

And here Kaiser Obama mouth piece; http://www.mdmbas.com/Blog/files/great-healthcare-debate-how-romney-ryan-and-wyden-will-save-medicare.html

It would have been a delaying and deliberate instead of the rush to throw it untested or enplaned.. a completely different animal.

And these were all available before the election so no excuse

Sleep well

Exactly. RomneyCARE stinks.
Romney Marriage stinks.
Romney stinks.
Romney lies.
Romney protected Obama’s lack of documentation.
Romney, and his vile surrogates,
backstab conservatives and their children.

And THAT is why the CHOSEN LOSER was Romney.

Stop blaming anyone other than the GOP and Romney.

He ran not just a lousy campaign, but he TRIED to get rid of social, religious conservatives.

He INTENTIONALLY told them to get lost.

They did.

It’s not on them; it’s on him.

Let us not look back at what was and what might have been—let us focus upon what is coming—an election in 2014. Let us do everything we can to make the Democrats PAY! Let us vow to replace every Democrat and every RINO fellow Traveler, with good Conservatives! Let us Vow to work work hard to counter the storm that the Liberal Propagantist MSM will throw at us. Let us do all in our power to win the Senate, and keep the house. Then and only then can we end this nightmare before it comes to bloodshed and violence.

Voters thought somebody else might lose insurance, not them.

This makes them worse than ignorant - they’re lowlifes.

Why is it that the default position of those who supported/voted for Mitt Romney is always either implying or explicitly stating that if you didn't vote for Mitt Romney you somehow are supporting Obama?

I can walk and chew bubble-gum at the same time, can you?

I loathe both men for some same reasons and for some different reasons.

Both men are accomplished and serial liars.
Both men support/have supported Progressive Liberal Policy Positions, in fact, if you were listening while Mitt Romney was Governor of Massachusetts, you'd swear he was a kissing-cousin of Obama.

Both men had their own form of Socialized Medicine.

Both men whole-heartedly supported Global Warming.

Both men currently and whole-heartedly support Abortion(Do a search on Romney, Abortion, August 27th, 2012).

Both men support the Gay Agenda(See Romney's support and implementation of Gay Marriage as Governor and his support for Gays in the Military, Gay Adoption, and Gays in the Boy Scouts).

Both men believe or have supported large-scale taxes on anything that moves to fund their big-government plans(Once again, see Romney's record as Governor).

So, all things considered, if Romney had won, we'd be slightly better off, given that he appears to be just a Pro-Business form of Obama.

He certainly is not a limited-government supporter.

He certainly is not a conservative by any stretch of your or my imagination.

He would have allowed or pushed for the implementation of Gay Marriage in America given he is the Father of Gay Marriage in America.

He would have simply tinkered with Obamacare, his latest statement being he would have pushed for 50 state versions of RomneyCare, there by, in his mind, getting by the only true objection against his form of Socialized medicine. His RomneyCare would have still had the individual mandate and would force you to purchase health insurance whether you felt you needed to or not and would have left Health Care in the hands of Big Brother.

He would have supported the Global Warming effort, given his record as Governor, though not as harshly or adamantly as Obama.

He would not have supported conservatives at all, given the the only people he seems to know how to get down and dirty with and really fight against are conservatives. Once again, check his record.

So whine all you want to about my statements, but Romney was and is a Progressive Liberal, and as a conservative, I don't prostitute myself and my principles to support the lessor of two evils anymore.

I've learned my lesson, the GOP-E will never change, they will continue to try and manipulate me and the primary process in order to put their left-leaning pretend Republican on the ballot each and every time.

And, as recent history so clearly show, the GOP-E will do everything in their power, including aiding and abetting the enemy, underfunding the GOP candidate, etc., in order to insure that real conservatives do not come to power.

I won't help them do this anymore, will you?

If Romney had actually supported the Pro-Life position instead of supporting the Pro-Choice position, you know, the murdering of babies, he might have better positioned himself to get the votes of the base of the party, the principled conservatives.

If Romney had actually not supported the Gay Agenda, as he did in his campaign, he might have better positioned himself to get the votes of the base of the party, the principled Christian conservatives.

If Romney had actually fought against Obama, the absolute worst Democrat Candidate in decades, instead of running on a platform of I'm not Obama, he might have better positioned himself to get the votes of the base of the party and independents.

If Romney hadn't lied about his positions, especially being Pro-Life as he did on August 27th of 2012 when he came out and stated his position had always been in support of Abortion in the cases of Rape, Incest, Life and HEALTH of the mother AFTER proclaiming he had always been pro-life at CPAC, he would have proven himself more trustworthly and not painted himself with the tag of LIAR so prominently. Once again, he would have positioned himself much better to gain the votes of those conservatives that you are wont to blame for his loss.

In real terms, this was Romney's election to lose. He faced the worst(Easiest to beat by any GOP candidate) Democrat candidate he could face in Barack Obama. It doesn't get any better than running against Barack Obama. Romney chose not to fight, except against conservatives, the base of his party, in an ill-conceived attempt at getting moderates to vote for him. He purposefully took the approach of thumbing conservatives in the eye, in effect telling them that "where-else are you going to go".

If you objectively, and truthfully want to assign blame for the GOP loss at the Presidential level in 2012, you'll have to start and finish with Romney. It's his fault.
