Young people have bailed on Obama. Why that matters a lot.

One of President Obama's chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America's youth fawning over the president are over.

A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public's.

If 0bama and the 'rats don't have the "yute" vote in 2014, the Senate goes to the 'pubs; at least that kills 0bozo's agenda thru 2016.

In order to kill Obama's agenda, the GOP needs to win 2/3 of the Senate. In order for Obama's agenda to be solidified, he needs the House. Likely outcome: GOP wins more of the House, wins majority of the Senate, but not two thirds. Zero is still the President, but can get zero done. But neither can the GOP pass any meaningful legislation. Nor can they enact critical personnel changes (2/3 of the Senate needed for that, LOL).

So, indecision, nastiness, and rancor will characterize 2015 and 2016. The question, then, is, how will the GOP be positioned to pick up the pieces for the 2016 election? Ideally, the Donks will nominate Herself, the globe-trotting Hildebeest, legendary heroine of Benghazi.

But there is a lot of time for the Donks to come up with a better strategy.

Sometimes the only solution is to let liberals burn their own cities to the ground with mismanagement as an example, and hope there are enough intelligent voters to notice causation

Libs have been burning their cities to the ground since LBJ's time and they haven't gotten a clue yet. They won't get a clue, either, until they've destroyed every city in America.

When there's no longer a productive class for them to feed on, only then will they realize that their Socialist utopia is a death trap.

Do you really think we ought to let them burn through the whole country just to prove a point? I'd rather that the healthy red states politically separate themselves from the horde long enough for them to wake up to reality. Secession would accomplish that faster (and with less bloodshed) than anything I can think of.

Let them starve in their liberal paradise long enough, and they'll come begging to be re-admitted to the real America. When we do reunite the country, it'll be on OUR terms.

I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that the “yout” vote will go R. I fear they will just turn off to politics altogether. At least until such time as they become working heads of households with a coupla kids, i.e., grownups.

I think you're absolutely correct. That is the exact track that I followed in my own maturing process. I'm now watching my thirty-something children follow the same road. They haven't truly arrived yet, but they're on the way.

I have already heard those numbers. One can only hope and pray that our republic can be saved before it’s too late.

Well, it won't end with a declaration of martial law and the suspension of elections like you postulated. There simply isn't the force and manpower to accomplish that, when a hundred million citizens are armed to the teeth.

These are perilous times, but I know we'll get through them.

Hunt-a-traitor?

There'll be millions of Henry Bowmans if the little traitors keep pushing it.

if 2014 goes wrong

Somehow totally unthinkable --though I'll admit I was unprepared for 2012.  The smart move may end up being to just expect more decades of muddle and we'll be commuting back and forth...

Consider though, that something could happen (civil unrest/ false flag event) and martial law ensues whereby the elections are suspended.

If there are no elections, there is no Constitution. If there is not Constitution there is no law. If there is no law, nothing is illegal.

Get it?

It would be nice to see it to back to the way it was, but it never will be. Hey, I seriously want to move to Texas, but the drawback to that is, is that I would be leaving my family and my gf’s family(soon to be fiance’s family behind). My brother might be a cop in Milwaukee soon, I think we’ll all be moving to Wisconsin soon, it’s not Texas, but it’s a whole hell of a lot better than IL.

I never said that was the endgame. My comment was based on the OP original comment.

Family dinners sure are fun with our lib “kids,” aren’t they? You and I have the benefit, at least, of our own misspent youth.

What I never ‘get’ is that so many conservatives’ kids go thru their liberal period but I’ve only once seen a liberal family’s kids go conservative.

Well, I wish I'd actually said it, but it's something I got in email. Still, it expresses something that I've been saying here for years.

I think there's a lot of truth in that. Out of seven siblings who were raised in a liberal environment, I'm the only one who escaped to Realville.

So what is the endgame? In your opinion, of course.

Do you know of any conservative towns in Wisconsin? I was shocked to watch a documentary on Wisconsin public TV (I live near the Wisconsin border) about how socialism got it's big foothold in Wisconsin. This has been a lefty state for many, many years.

I agree with you that Chicago is dead until they get rid of the Socialist Democratic Party. Too many people in Chicago are dependent on the lefty Democrats for their sustenance. The government in Illinois is rotten to the core.

They really don’t like the NSA watching everything they do. I think that’s what’s really got them bugged.

I'm surprised to hear that.

I thought most millenials aspire to live the "Life of Julia" and were more than happy to have Uncle Baraq along for the ride.

The kiddies are upset that Obama hasn’t paid off their school loans, given them enough for their ADHD disability and made homosexuality the national passtime. I’m confident that he’ll address all these issues soon.
