In a December 4 speech, President Obama declared income "inequality" to be "the defining challenge of our time."
President Obama and some leaders in the Democratic Party appear to want us to accept a false premise: that if I earn more money than you, I "owe" you some of my money to make things "fair." This might be true if the amount of money available were fixed, but it is not.
The communist philosophy is similar to this way of thinking: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need," is the slogan popularized by Karl Marx. In other words, mutually-shared poverty with just enough to barely sustain everyone, not an avenue out of poverty with hope as the mode of transportation, hard work as the fuel and success as the destination.
Today, the attitude promoted by the income "inequality" crowd is one of victimization. Poor people are told they are victims because successful people have stolen from them what is rightfully theirs.

Obama consistently bows down to communism and to America’s enemies.
Sadly, even all our money - the money they now covet - won’t be enough, ever.
They won’t be satisfied until they have taken our dignity, our honor, and our futures plus those of our children.
“The slave dreams not of freedom, but of being master.”
Obamacare is the first step to that...

From each according to his ability, to each according to his need...so sayeth the Communist.
But at the same time the communist bosses in communist countries had all the luxuries for themselves, while the population suffered.
Communism is just a way to con the masses into destroying themselves...

I started learning about Communism at age 14, (1958) when I became a ham radio operator. My only passion was to contact foreign stations, many of which were in the Soviet Union and the surrounding countries that they ruled.
I learned much more when I later lived in post Communist central Europe.
You mean its not an entire religion that seeks our destruction by their own fundamental doctrine? Damn. How did I miss that?
The American people themselves are communist-lite in many situations. Nothing will ever change except the march of socialism. Even the Chileans are dying to return to socialism.
Excellent line; wish I had uttered it first! And the masses are slower than ever to learn.
“Today, the attitude promoted by the income “inequality” crowd is one of victimization. Poor people are told they are victims because successful people have stolen from them what is rightfully theirs.”
And of course, when you ask how it’s rightfully theirs, they usually respond with a gun (ie, “It’s mine because the government says it’s mine”).

IIRC my Marx, he thought that we'd all be rich after we seized the means of production and established a "dictatorship of the proletariat". IOW - he thought the same as today's Democrats - everyone will get rich by stealing the rich guy's property. Today's Democrats of course exempt themselves from that theft (*cough* Al Gore *cough*).
How Karl Marx's ideas aren't seen to be a purely, transparently, obviously evil lie by my fellow man is still a mystery to me.
There will always be inequality. The point is to foster a vibrant economy that provides individuals with opportunity to satisfy their basic needs. I don’t care what other people are earning or how much money other people have. It is none of my business. My concern is develop a marketable skill set that I can use to provide for my needs. If there is something left for luxuries all the better. I do not have the right to or claim on anyone else’s property. Envy is a base emotion, unworthy of a man. This battle against inequality in money is a trap, it destroys a country and a society, bringing everyone down.
The Marxist elites can’t even see that they alone keep all the wealth for themselves and distribute the crumbs of perpetual poverty to those they oppress.
Cal Thomas is the one who got Jerry Falwell to cozy up to EMK. Made Jerry look bad; otherwise, he was a truly great man.
The entire premise of Atlas Shrugged.
