Mall at Short Hills victim defending wife from carjackers when shot: source
NY Daily News ^

The lawyer killed by carjackers at an upscale New Jersey mall gave up his life to protect his wife.

Dustin Friedland had just let his beloved spouse Jamie into their luxury SUV, packed with holiday gifts. He was walking around to the driver’s side when two crooks ambushed him and demanded his keys, a source close to the investigation told the Daily News.

“He knew his wife was in there and he refused,” the source said Monday. The brave Hoboken attorney resisted — and in the struggle four shots were fired, one of which mortally wounded Friedland, police said.

In today’s world you must be prepared to defend yourself against deadly force. The fools in government want us to be defenseless against these feral animals. Screw the concealed carry laws. Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

Taking on two armed men while unarmed and single-handedly is not very smart. A car and some Christmas gifts are not worth you life. Unless the wife was directly threatened he should have just let them have the car.

That being said all real Men need to know how to defend themselves with and without arms so if do have to take on two armed men you have half a chance. Decent Men should exercise their right to carry firearms at all times and its absolute tyranny for States like New Joisey to deny that right.

These sons of Obama are not decent Men. Being a Man has nothing to do with age or gender. Being a Man is a responsibility and duty. All Men may be created equal but not all males are Men. These sons of Obama have no business running loose in a civilized society. They deserve the gallows but really, going after them now is too late.

Once they find these two bastards - and find them they will - my guess is it will be the SAME story repeated again and again in “minority” communities.

A sperm donor provided germ cells to a receptor female who then produced these two bastards in a one family household with no strong male father figure to provide guidance on right and wrong. Then the two bastards gravitated towards a surrogate “father-family figure” - the street gang. And the street gang provided the kind of “value” system which led to this.

I could be wrong, but that is my suspicion. And if, so, once again, the “playboy philosophy” - the idea that sex is just an indoor parlour game - has claimed another victim.

And just as massive drug abuse had its origins in the “minority community”, and left unchecked there and then spread to the wider national stage, so is this new contagion.

I was once aked why I would carry a gun to a shopping mall. My answer was so that I’d be armed when got back to the parking lot.

I carry everywhere I legally can. In a parking lot, especially a parking garage, I am 100% into situational awareness. I walk down the center of the lanes, a good 10 to 12 feet from the vehicles on either side. That means anyone rushing out from between vehicles has more ground to cover and I have a critical second or so to react. They will have enough momentum that a simple move puts them past you and on the ground. I also listen and check six in windows of vehicles. Look around before walking between cars to get to yours - you don't want to get caught in a confined space. Check for occupants in the vehicle next to yours (or yours) before getting close. If there are people in the car next to yours (drivers side), or a van - get in on the passenger side, relock doors, and then slide over. If you're right handed (shooting), keep that right hand free. Carry packages in your left hand, be comfortable with the idea of dropping them (regardless of contents) to free both hands to operate your weapon. Get comfortable with using your left hand to unlock and open your car door without fumbling. Learn to shoot equally well (at least close up) with your left hand. Steel yourself to the notion of going from pleasant day at the mall to full I'll-put-you-in-a-body-bag SOB mode in about 0.25 seconds if/when called for. Better to offend someone by taking preventative steps (yeah, that's right, I changed direction so as not to have to walk near you, get over it) than end up in a body bag yourself.

My wife always gives me the evil eye when we are out shopping and she puts her arm around me and realizes I’m carrying.

My wife asks why I'm not carrying if she doesn't see me putting it on.

His wife was in the car in the passenger seat, probably already buckled in. The husband was accosted when he got around to the driver side door. According to the article, he made the decision not to give the car to the perps Because his wife was in the car! Brave man!

I said as much on a thread yesterday. He hesitated because of his wife's safety.

That hesitation was perceived as a threat and boom, he's dead.

No question but there are high quality pictures of these guys - from every angle. License plate of the other car too. They probably have the footage of the assault itself. They know exactly who did it. They want to nail the whole ring, not just these two perps.

***I was once asked why I would carry a gun to a shopping mall.***

Over the years, my wife’s mother, niece, niece’s mother-in-law, and one of my co-workers have all been accosted or robbed in mall parking lots in Tulsa, OKC, and Dallas.

That is why they finally left the big cities for smaller towns.

Any time I go to these towns, I’m, well, never mind.
