FWIW, I ran into Brashaw at the safeway in Kona. We made small talk about the huge amount of food he was buying (suspected who he was even with a ball cap on) and with questions about feeding a football team.
The guy could not have been more down to earth, with no apologies about where his house up on the Kohala coat was ($$$).
When checkout time came, checker asked if he had a Safeway card for discounts. He said yes, but was obviously embarrassed to whip out his ID in public. Another in line used her card to apply the discount and he was deeply thankful for the gesture.
"Celebrities" would have just blown it off, accepted the extra $$ or ignored the generous woman's help. Bradshaw was a totally normal guy, Hall of Fame or not.
I just tried that getting off my butt thing. And I still haven’t earned any of these people’s money.
Didn’t know him well the short time I played with him in 1978, but you’re right, he was a truly nice guy—and a great, come-through player all his career.
He treated us long-shot rookies just like we were veterans.

Had Phil kept on and signed with the Steelers, he'd have 4 rings on his fingers.
Now Terry, who was considered just a "mediocre" QB at the time is enjoying his fame and acclaim.
But Phil loved hunting more than football.
And God bless BOTH of them, they ended up living their dreams.
Ironically, Phil is MUCH wealthier than Bradshaw.

Phil Robertson built a multi-million dollar company from the ground up, with his bare hands and a Christian work ethic. It's why the A&E television network wanted to make a reality show about him and his family in the first place.
Terry Bradshaw and Jay Leno busted their humps to make their fortunes too.

I talked to Todd a number of times as I would go and help him load his plain at the boat ramp next to my house. Very nice person and a great family. Met his two older girls and his wife and yes very nice people and he is truly blessed. Had no ideal who she was and could have cared less. In Alaska you help other people even you don’t know them.
You may get a better reception at the DU.
