Very soon now you will be asking why no one tried to tell us what was happening.
So true, soon this negativity will be gone and we will be wondering how we missed so many good things happening.
The GOP is Dead, the GOP is DEAD, long live the TEA PARTY!
We gave the GOP the Presidency the House and the Senate for 6 years AND THEY COULDN’T EVEN BUILD A FENCE.
AMERICA needs a new CONSERVATIVE PARTY...SOCIALLY AND FISCALLY.
Amnesty DOES affect the American People ....much more than odumbicare, it has for decades because for decades millions of Americans have lost jobs to illegals. But the GOP won’t dare say that or dare say anything accept “lets avoid the shutdown”.
All they have to say unless odumbi offers a balanced budget, we cannot increase the debt ceiling. PERIOD.
We shall see I guess.
Well, yes, we shall see ..but whatever happens in 2014 doesnn’t change the fact that you didn’t follow the logic here today.
WE can always eat at home.
I think some of the more patient amnesty supporters are waiting for the GOP Senate majority to pass the McConnell-Boehner super amnesty of 2015.
Whether the GOP has 49 or 51 Senators I dont see much difference in blocking Obama. He will veto a repeal and will not care about the Congressional Democrats. Michelle Obama is not running for congress or president in 2016. His last 2 years will be him thinking he is exposing the racism of white Republicans and Blue Dog turncoats.
If something happens to Scalia or Kennedy I dont trust Murkowski or Susan Collins to block a 5th gun grabber.
They were here on FR. There were Freepers who said they would never vote for Romney.
I would never vote for Romney.
If the GOP wants to win, they have to give us candidates worth voting for and stop being at war against conservatives.
Uniparty
The Uniparty lives whether one side dies or not
Very Well Said Geron.
Said and did. I warned for years what his candidacy what mean, and he proved me right. I refused to vote for Zero’s ringer. I voted Conservative, Virgil Goode.
Are you a jerk or do just like to appear to be one? Why the personal attacks? If you want to make a point, make it. I know how many voted against the Ryan-Murray bill and they were a minority in their own party--even in the Senate when you look at who voted for cloture and who is up for reelection. Both parties support Big Government and do the bidding of their corporate paymasters.
Theres your base. Build on it. Primaries are coming. You FR doommongers - get up off your lazy whiny asses and get involved and make change happen.
I am quite active in county and state politics. I participate and I also am a member of the Tea Party. I even give money to people like Steve King even though I don't live in Iowa. I have worked with him on immigration issues. I have been involved enough to realize that we are losing this struggle and much of it has to do with the rapidly changing demographics of this country fueled by our immigration policies. Demography is destiny.
Im tired of hearing the complaining and the excuses.
Not from me. I do live in the real world however. We are in serious trouble as a nation and the political class is part of the problem, not the solution.
And you wonder why I’m a jerk? There you go again, we’re all doomed and dead and the fight is over. YOU are being the jerk and ignoring the facts of the situation to fit your narrative. You keep repeating that old saw that both parties are the paymasters of Big Government. Yet, more than once Boner has had to use Dems to get the votes he needed to win. I’d say he’s in a seriously weak position as is your theory. Let’s calculate how many more we need to knock him out as speaker and get someone better in. Bet it’s not that many.
I agree the Senate will be harder, but even GOP majority will mean that we can write good legislation in the House and NOT have to run it thru Reid. Yeah Obama will veto it, but that’s when you write a radical bill to make him move radically in your direction. Either that or we wait him out till ‘16 and keep a lid on the Executive branch shenanigans. Sometimes when you fight to a stalemate you win.
We also have the state legislatures, where the GOP is kicking butt. Voter ID, busting up the public unions, even distributing electoral votes by congressional district. There are many things we can do at the state level to undermine the Dems and shift things our way.
Yes, we are on defense. Start fighting like it. We are not talking here about some Newt Gingrich overarching 50 State Strategy big broom sweep victory. The 60’s are over and we have got to stop thinking like Baby Boomers. First part of that is stop always going for the brass ring and the big sweep, and realize that we have a very dispersed objective with more than one target. However, those dispersed targets work together toward one goal, which is to bust up the entrenched liberal stranglehold by going after the places where the Dems are vulnerable, and using the natural sentiment of the electorate for our momentum.
Want an example? Look at the way Ted Cruz played the shutdown. He know it would attract the media moths right to the flame and then he tied it to repealing Obamacare. That was all a feint. But he timed it perfectly, and with Obamacare now on the radar, and the shutdown ended and the rollout flopping, the entire debate shifted overnite. The Dems are now on the defensive. Why? Because he perceived their vulnerabilities and exploited them., and in turn created momentum, momentum the Tea Party and conservatives can use in the primaries.
All is not lost.
It is an old saw borne out of the facts. Both parties receive huge amounts of money from the corporate elite. With government (federal, state, and local) controlling over 40% of GDP, crony capitalism is rampant. It is not coincidental that the richest area in the country is the counties surrounding DC. I live in one of them. I see it firsthand. Boehner represents the GOPe. There are many others who can take his place. Exactly who do you want to replace him?
Yeah Obama will veto it, but thats when you write a radical bill to make him move radically in your direction. Either that or we wait him out till 16 and keep a lid on the Executive branch shenanigans. Sometimes when you fight to a stalemate you win.
Why in the world would Obama move in our direction if we write a radical bill? And how many Rep senators can you really count on to pass truly conservative legislation? 14 RINOs voted for the Gang of 8 bill.
Wait Obama out till '16? Just in time to welcome Hillary to the WH. You just have to look at an electoral map to see how many electoral college votes the Dems start out with as locks. We have reached a tipping point and I seriously doubt any Rep can win the WH in 2016. We have entered the era of tribal politics.
We also have the state legislatures, where the GOP is kicking butt. Voter ID, busting up the public unions, even distributing electoral votes by congressional district. There are many things we can do at the state level to undermine the Dems and shift things our way.
And if pigs had wings they could fly. How are you doing in Iowa? In the last 7 Presidential elections, the Reps won the state only once. We are being outnumbered. By 2019 half of the children 18 and under will be minorities as classified by the USG. Every cohort that turns 18 will be more and more Dem. In 1970 89% of the country was non-Hispanic white and now it is 66%. By 2042 it will be 50%. Demography is destiny.
The Dems are now on the defensive. Why? Because he perceived their vulnerabilities and exploited them., and in turn created momentum, momentum the Tea Party and conservatives can use in the primaries.
The Dems may be on the defensive over Obamacare, but they still control the WH and the Senate. They also control the MSM, Hollywood, and the school system that indoctrinates our children. They also use the welfare state to solicit votes as more and more Americans depend on government checks. The so-called 47% don't buy the message of limited government and lower taxes. And their numbers are increasing.
All is not lost.
The status quo is losing. We continue to bring in 1.2 million legal immigrants a year. At least two thirds of them will eventually be Dem voters. One in 8 is foreign born in this country today--the highest level in 90 years-- compared to the one in 21 in 1970. In less than a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history.
