Veterans and conservatives are expressing outrage toward House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). The cuts to retired service members pensions embedded in the budget deal cut by him and Senate Budget Committee Chairwoman Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) elicited an overwhelming surge of social media responses.
Members of the retired armed services community and conservatives across America are swarming Ryans social media accounts to express their disgust. Thousands are stepping up to rip Ryan over the deal. For example, one disabled veteran, Nicole Vaccaro Julian, wrote Ryan that his actions have cost him her support. This disabled vet will no longer support you! Vaccaro Julian wrote.
Another, retired Air Force veteran Paula Benway Flores, wrote that she hopes Ryan is removed from public office. I never want to see your face again and hope we can get you out of office quickly, Benway Flores wrote. Faking to care about your fellow Americans and backstabbing the very people who give you your freedom. You make me question what I ever fought for and why I sacrificed my life and time away from my family.....Mr Ryan you DISGUST me with your fake integrity."
Mac Cochran, a retired U.S. Army sergeant, wrote that Ryan is not friendly to veterans. Paul Ryan, you are no friend of the Veteran, Cochran wrote. How dare you take money from those that have risked everything to defend this Nation and what it represents...shame on you. Sergeant First Class US Army Retired.
Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Justin Maloney wrote that Ryan has betrayed him and other veterans. "Paul Ryan, I just stopped liking you. I feel betrayed, Maloney wrote.

Not only did he betray retired military and currently serving military (right before Christmas, he lied about protecting disabled veterans pensions, and continues to do so.
As Breitbart News has reported, Ryan initially claimed that disabled and injured veterans pensions would be exempt from the cutsa claim he then scrubbed from an official House Budget Committee document two days before the House vote on the budget deal last Thursday. Ryan and Murray now call the fact that wounded warriors are not exempt from pension cuts a mistake, but Ryans scrubbing of that document means two days prior to the House vote on the bill he was already aware of what he now calls a mistake. Nonetheless, he did nothing to try to fix it.
His latest proposed "fix" that he outlined in an editorial in USA Today will only exempt military "retired for medical reasons" - not those with a VA disability rating earned due to injuries sustained in combat or service related injuries. Even if you have a Purple Heart, missing a limb, and a 100% disability rating from the VA - your retirement pension will be cut.
Look at some of these responses to Ryan.
Paul Ryan: - 4 degrees on Christmas Eve! A perfect Wisconsin day for sledding. Merry Christmas!
- Brittany Kortan: I use to stand by you, apparently you don't stand by or for my husband. Enjoy your wealth here on earth.
- Craig Foust: I would never give you any money to support you after cutting veterans benefits...shame on you! Don't run for president!
- DickandLinda Coombs: Take a hike!!
Jacob Barnett: that's a nice smile considering all the veterans you just screwed
Darren LaPierre: Unbelievable the first place you looked to cut was the military! You sold us out big time, no wonder the Dems were so happy to work with you!!! You screwed the military and gave them what they wanted!!! Go away!
Gary Sumpter: And rippin off vets...prick
Michael Yiengst: Still better then Obama. "Hitler" that's what Obama is.
Sharon Coad: Sounds to me you stepped on the Vet's toes. PLEASE fix this, may be you all should work for minimum wage. Then you all could see how hard it is to live on pensions. Hope you can sleep at night. Remember how make it possible for you to have peace.
Charlene Mellen: Merry Christmas to the Ryan family.
Gene Shaw: After your budget deal robbing the military that I proudly served ...I will unlike your page!!
Rob Duncan: Enjoy your Christmas....may you reflect and seek forgiveness for what you have done to our veterans.
Marilyn Waidelich: You're nothing but another elitist entitled fat cat, I suppose we should thank you for showing your true colors so early in your soon to be over career. How could you? Americans will not forget your legislation.
Bonnie Simmons: Why did you take money away from our military? Period!
Darlene Barber Belfiore: Screw you thanks for screwing over out veterans like my husband.
John Freeman: Glad your having a great day and not worrying about your retirement getting cut after you've been shot at by the Taliban!!!
Scott Muetz: Thanks, from a veteran of 21 years active duty infantry. Three deployments for a total of 37 months in Iraq. I am just relieved that you were able to keep the money for illegal alien welfare safe. You have lost ALL of my support. Merry Christmas
There are some happy greetings to Ryan, but they are overwhelmingly negative. He still doesn't get it. He defended "saving" a whopping $6 Billion over ten years by screwing veterans out of a cost of living raise, meanwhile, we have a Federal government spending $10.46 Billion per day by giving it away with both fists.
And yes, Paul Ryan still has the guts to leave this photo on his Facebook page from Veterans Day - thanking veterans for their service!
Veterans are not the only ones ripping Paul Ryan. Not only did he screw the Veterans but he kicked the can down the road on any kind of budget reform.
I wonder why Ryan didn’t start with cuts to Congress and retired Congresscritters and their staffs? Oh, yea—he’s one of them. He needs to go. Next year may be the first time democrats allow military votes to count.
Gee I wonder where he is hiding the knife.
No comments about how Democrats turned down an alternative- disallowing illegal immigrants to get the earned income credit when they have TIN number and not a SSA number, which was put forth in a bill. You have to have a SSA number to get the credit. Makes me sick that more isn’t be said about Democrats un-American decision. Keep on giving to the illegals and take from our Military...
This guy is Scarborough II.
I hope I’m right when I say that this guy’s political career is over in the 2014 elections. It would be justice if even the Dems crossed over just to get this guy.
Veterans - they’re not that important.
All those illegal immigrants - VERY important! The GOP is thinking about the future.
Hey, if a few vet families get screwed over, its all for the greater good.
“Daddy what did you do today”?
Smiling ryan replied “I stabbed the vets in the back”
Representative Ryan must think we're awfully dumb. While the 'pubs should be working day and night to end Obamacare, they now have to lose momentum on conservative issues to undo the damage Ryan has done.
Ryan is NWO. He’s bought and paid for by the global internationalists and bankers.
For Christmas, Paul Ryan and Patty Murray are going to a VA hospital. Ryan is going to trip the Veterans as they walk out and Murray is going to take a photo of the Veterans hitting the cement and put it on a Democrat fundraising letter.
“Look at the blood! We got those Veterans! Send us $5 to help hurt more Veterans!”
Ryan’s Facebook page brimming with outrage from vets.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Paul Ryno is an evil scumbag who fooled us once. Let’s not be fooled again in 2016.
Another uniparty politician basking in the adoration of the “little people.”
Now. now. Let’s not compare representative ryan to scumbags....
Scumbags don’t deserve the slander.
If I read pension cuts one more time I’m going to scream. It’s a one percent change in the rate of increase beginning in 2015.
Ryan is an A-hole as big as Soetoro.
For the average guy who doesn't think its a big deal never wore combat boots.
I wore combat boots for 6 years.
I read that some deem them not necessary in the age of COSTCO and Sam's Club.
The future of policy in DC from the big parties are austerity measures that involve “cuts” to programs along with higher taxes.
This is what Ryan and Murray just did with their “bipartisan” deal with most of their respective parties members in the House voting for it.
In the Senate, 36 Republicans opposed it, but for most of them it was a show they were putting on.
Changing the way the COLA is calculated was also proposed as a way to extend the life of social Security.
27 years and counting.
My gut is telling me that both parties are gaging the backlash from this episode before targeting Social Security COLA in the near future. Forbes' Robert Laura wrote about it last weekend
Congress is full of a bunch of snakes in the grass.
That's still a cut from what we were supposed to get. Don't fall for government bafflegab.
Active Duty/Retiree ping.
When you hit the "View previous comments" under Ryan's most recent posts, you get an earful. People across the nation are outraged.
Ryan doesn't care. He wants to use this betrayal as a springboard towards screwing us all further.
Get ready to scream. It is a cut in their future pensions. By reducing their COLA by 1% they are reducing the pensions until they reach 65.
All true, but never forget that he had help - a lot of RINOS are enjoying some time out of the mix even though they voted in the House or tried their "I voted for cloture but didn't vote for it" yo-yo-s in the Senate.
