He was an average student from Hangu, a remote town in North Western Pakistan, but he has become a national hero.

Aitzaz Hasan, 14, stopped a suicide bomber from entering his school Monday and sacrificed his life to protect his fellow students.

"I saw Aitzaz trying to get hold of a guy and then there was a big explosion," said Habib Ali, who is a senior teacher at the school.

The target of the bomber was the morning assembly of approximately 450 students, Ali said.

"Merciful Father, I have squandered my days with plans of many things. This was not among them. But at this moment, I beg only to live the next few minutes well. For all we ought to have thought, and have not thought; all we ought to have said, and have not said; all we ought to have done, and have not done; I pray thee, God, for forgiveness." Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan - 'The 13th Warrior' (1999)

Say what you want, but this boy died well. Its a shame that one of his own drove him to it and so many more will not understand his actions.

From an Islamic perspective, the suicide bomber is on his way to paradise.
From a Christian perspective, the teen who laid down his life for another is on his way to heaven.

Are all cultures equal? Is one view just as good as the other? Only the evil in heart could think so.

These muslims are even more clueless of their own koranic teachings.

Yusuf Ali
Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law).

Now perpetual vengeance since the word “heir” is inserted! SOOOOOO, sin can be carried forward! LOL

What Yusuf Ali was saying is that anything, no matter how vile, despicable, dis-honorable, evil, etc., tha is done in the name of Allah is perfectly justified.

It’s the same basic m.o. as the collectivists using the ends to justify the means which is the antithesis of Judaism and Christianity.

Agree to your point but “Allah has made sacred” and “And if anyone is slain wrongfully” these are about muslims killing their own. To kill a non-muslim(nonbeliever) is not unjust. The exception here of course is to islamic honor killing of a wife/daughter for lewdness & adultery.

It sure appears they have a license to murder per the koran

Quotes from islamic scripture seem to always be difficult to read. Starts, stops, lots of commas, reversals, mid-sentence explanations, oblique sayings instead of simple subject verb.

How about, You shall not commit murder?

‘Aitzaz Hasan, 14, stopped a suicide bomber from entering his school Monday and sacrificed his life to protect his fellow students.’

This lad is a hero in the basic sense of the word which is ‘a man distinguished by his courage’. The US Secretary of State or even the president ought make it a point to issue a public commendation for his courage say on the weekly presidential radio broadcast. Do I think this is likely? Not hardly, unfortunately.

Not just a license to murder but a license to do any evil deed as long as it is done in the name of Allah. Why do you think Arab Muslim culture is so dysfunctional?

” To kill a non-muslim(nonbeliever) is not unjust.”

That is their form of redeeming one’s self in case they have become apostates. If a Muzzy converts out then the only way to make good with Allah is to take the life of an infidel.

In order for Jews and Christians to redeem themselves is to save a life.

One way worships death and the other, life.

.
Why single this kid out as brave as he may have been?

There are many acts of personal bravery performed daily by our soldiers in the field and the many martyrs that are killed by muslims.

True, but the interest of the US is in combating Islamism and supporting those (far too few) in the Muslim world with the courage to oppose these people. Hence the rationale for public praise.

How many of the heroes that you mentioned are untrained 14 year old boys, who did their heroic act despite the beliefs of many in their own society and many of the leaders of their religion?

A fully equipment trained veteran fireman running into a fire and saving a life is one thing, but imagine a 14 year old neighbor boy running into a fire to do the same thing. Would it be the same thing?

Was it a Christian school? If the suicide bomber’s plan was to kill dozens/hundreds of other Muslims, young ones at that, does that earn him paradise as, in their belief, killing infidels would?

I believe you honor him, because it makes it blatantly clear that we don’t just honor folks who operate on behalf of the West.

By honoring the boy, we show appreciation for him saving his innocent classmates, none of which are our charges.

It reveals very clearly how evil this suicide bomber was. It magnifies and spreads far the telling of what took place.

It serves to focus on how how vile suicide bombers are, and how simple, reasoned, and worthy the children’s aspirations are.

And last but not least, this kid was a true hero. He’s as big a hero as anyone in the West is, giving up his life for others. This doesn’t take away from our troops. He is in a class with them IMO. They both take bad people on, on behalf of other innocents. And all too often, they lose their own lives so that others might live.

It’s not why we should tell the story, it’s how can you not tell the story?

Thank you, Field Marshall. RIP, indeed. The young man was a hero — and a true martyr. He’s now in the arms of God.
