Nearly six months ago, President Obama sought to temper outrage over the nation's mushrooming surveillance programs by pledging new steps to balance privacy and safety. "It's not enough for me, as president, to have confidence in these programs," he said. "The American people need to have confidence in them as well."
In other words, no government, not even one led by a liberal constitutional lawyer, can shield bad policies with empty promises. It's not enough to say, "Trust us," while curbing sacred liberties -- and yet that still appears to be Obama's position.
[snip]Embracing "the spirit of reform" is euphemism for not reforming. If anything, NSA could emerge stronger: Obama is codifying the sweeping and still-largely secret activities of the U.S. intelligence system while mollifying the public's privacy concerns.

Yep. I see it the same way.
I DO trust Obama...
To oppose liberty.
To undermine the USA.
To seek his personal interest at the expense of the country.
To aid and abet all enemies of the Republic, foreign and domestic.
The Dems are rushing to get their chess pieces in place for their eventual socialist coup which must occur while Obama is still in office. If you think that the nation’s civilian intel agencies are firmly conservative, think again. The coup engineers will offer Al Gore and the banking oligarchy (traditional clandestine recipients of NSA and CIA intel) business as usual and they and large factions of our polarized military will support it as a benefit to the working class.
Four obstacles stand in their way- the evaporation of global warming as a universally accepted issue, armed Americans with the cojones to be dangerous, whistleblowers and the radicals’ own blind incompetence and desperation. If Americans can be shown the insanity that underlies the CPUSA propaganda, we should have a series of fun TV + popcorn events.
Obama Tells Public, ‘Trust Me’
Public says “Nope.”*
*at least we would hope.
The dictator-in-chief (DIC), telling the masses to trust him. All you have to do is convert to islam, embrace communism, and accept that the US will become a third world shithole, and all will be well under king Hussein I.
Mr. Obama cannot be trusted, especially by the people who foolishly made him the most powerful man on earth. Too bad nobody cared enough about him to teach him right and wrong. Too late now.

Oh sure, lay it off on the “American People”, Mr. Obama. I can’t think of a single other case during your tenure when you actually challenged the “American People” to exercise their judgment. I also can’t think of another matter that was of importance to you where you didn’t “steamroll” the “American People” despite what they thought on the subject.
Looks like you’re trying to wiggle out of your share of the responsibility for the invasion of privacy being committed by your government in the name of “national security”.
Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I don't add you to the list...
I have a very good friend who's Jewish. He says that in Hebrew, "Trust me" translates to "Screw You".
That translation is as universal as the word “no.”
I agree, but at the direction of his handlers.
Dear Leader Kim-Barrack demands we trust him, or else.
He doesn't "not give a whit about America".
He was raised from his mother's knee to loathe freedom, to loathe Western Civilization and most of all to loathe this country.
His fondest desire, and that of the barbarians on the other end of his BlackBerry, is to destroy this country, to leave it aspiring to rise to the level of third-world socialist dungheap, with most of us dead and the rest in chains.
yeah sure thing that’s right up there on omg to do list
Fifth obstacle: They consistently S**T on the military rank-and-file. This is NOT the way to build loyalty in the ranks. Take a look at how other tyrants have had relationships with their militaries. Seldom are they completely hostile to the goals of one another, and tyrants almost NEVER work against the prosperity and security of the miltary class.
Obama might get the perfumed prince class of General, but rank and file needs to be on board for this to work.
