On a conference call with Gov. Chris Christies most loyal donors a few nights ago, his brother, Todd, pressed for last-minute cash to pay for the governors inauguration, a daylong fete ending on Ellis Island.
Then the governor himself came on the line, trying to convince his listeners that he was moving beyond the George Washington Bridge scandal and getting back to work, according to two participants.
The next day, state investigators sent 20 subpoenas to his inner circle and the inquiry widened.
This was supposed to be a season of triumph and celebration for the governor of New Jersey a chance to bask in his landslide re-election victory in a Democratic state, embark on a European tour to bolster his foreign policy credentials and emerge as the modern face of a Republican Party desperate to win back the White House.

fasting is your friend
if Christie had more self discipline he maybe could think straight
"I don't just want to lose, I want to lose BIG."
LOL, just LOL.
Earth to stinking GOP, I will vote for Hillary before I vote for Fat Boy, and I hate Hillary.
“Advice”.....translation...either you ask for our blessing and guidance....OR SWING.....(maybe the investigation should look into what part the GOP played in releasing emails and contacting RAT mayors).....just saying
Funny thing is Karl Rove and Ken Mehlman know the dirty details of why Christie failed vetting by the Romney campaign.
I believe that 2014 will be the year of the RAT. Not the regular DemocRAT dogma, but the year the RINORATs get their just rewards.
Appeasing, duplicitous bastard RINOs that will scheme with their ‘show votes’ and then come home to lie to your face.
Utterly content in their DC power (second-tier that it is), and oblivious to the principles and wishes of those that sent them there to DC.
May all their names ROT on the ballots in November and be as lonely as a Father’s Day card in the ghetto.
Kommie Karl Rove running your campaign is like hiring the captain of the Titanic to pilot your yacht
“...he was moving beyond the George Washington Bridge scandal...”
After all, that was just a bump in the road.
I’m beginning to think that Rove is on Soros’s payroll.
Here’s my advice Krispy Kream, “Try the veal.”
