We have a president who has tied the hands of our border agents, granted administrative amnesty, encouraged a new flow of illegal immigration, and is now demanding comprehensive amnesty, citizenship, and benefits for all illegal immigrants. Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the third-ranking Republican in the House, is responding to the President with overwhelming force. Watch out, Obama:
The third-ranking House Republican, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), said he backs granting legal status, but not a new pathway to citizenship, to millions of immigrants in the U.S. illegally.
McCarthy stated his personal view on the contentious issue in an interview with KBAK/KBFX Eyewitness News in his hometown of Bakersfield, Calif. He signaled that the call for a provisional legal status would be included in the immigration reform principles House Republican leaders are soon to release.
The principles arent written yet, but in my personal belief, I think itll go with legal status that will allow you to work and pay taxes, McCarthy said. [The Hill]
Couple this with the news that the Chamber has already spent close to $50 million lobbying for amnesty, and you will realize that the fix is in. All of the top House Republicans Boehner, Cantor, McCarthy, and Ryan along with the largest establishment lobbying empire, plan to push amnesty even with Obama in the White House.
Let this seep in for a few minutes. The entire force of the GOP establishment is being applied towards Obamas most cherished agenda item for his second term, not towards fighting Obamacare and the debt ceiling. While Americans are concerned about out-of-control government, Obamacare, debt, and jobs, these clowns are concerned about illegal immigrants, foreign lobbies, and special interests.

I agree...if the GOPe are not removed...it will be our fault
The GOPe is basically green lighting the Obama Agenda.
GOP: Greenlighting Obama’s Programs
Its not that complicated of a problem.
Seal the border. Enforce the law. Let the chips fall.
Issa is the same way on amnesty. I am trying to come up with the name of a least one California Republican congressman who is not for amnesty. Maybe Dana Rohrbacher is against amnesty. The only peoples crying for amnesty are the illegals and congressmen. We the people want jobs for the American people.
I am getting worried. The below indicates that Dems may be dropping their demands for citizenship for illegals, as some here told me they would. That would make a deal with GOP more possible or more likely.
If any of you have liberal Democrats as House members call them ASAP and tell them they need to take a firm stand on citizenship, any reform must include it,
but if you have a Republican representative call them to tell them the opposite, no citizenship for any illegal(or no legalization at all if you like)
CRep Elijah Cummings website : Immigration
The imperial courts will grant them citizenship
A year ago I would have posted that they won't;
but after the SCOTUS gay marriage cases Kennedy justifying forcing it on states because he said its good for their adopted children has changed my mind.
It showed me that they don't see themselves limited by laws or the constitution.
Remember “The Young Guns” Cantor, Ryan and McCarthy? I could vomit from it.
My guess is that the "fix" is already in the bag. GOPe is complicit or about to be bamboozled...wait, both.
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.[Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg]
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... Really good generals plan a two pronged attack to win.
This issue needs to be attacked from the right and the left both to try to stop a bipartision compromise.
Mimicking what a ‘principled’ progressive would say to a Dem to oppose it so they believe it is really easy, .
I called my Democrat representative and played principled progressive, it was really fun.
