One of the Republicans challenging Sen. Lindsey Graham for reelection is raffling off an AR-15 as part of his campaign.
State Sen. Lee Bright announced the contest in an email to supporters Thursday, encouraging them to sign up online for the raffle scheduled for Feb. 15, and asking them to forward the email to friends and family and make a donation.
Bright began the email with a reference to the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., in 2012, which spurred a resurgent but ultimately futile call for gun control in Congress.
“In the wake of the horrific tragedy in Newtown, Conn., gun-grabbers were sure they had the votes to ram gun control into law,” the email read. “Thanks to the action of Second Amendment supporters all over the country, their scheme failed — even despite my Republican primary opponent, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham.”
The South Carolina lawmaker references a vote on gun control legislation in the Senate last April, which some Republicans threatened to filibuster.

I would hope that Mr. Bright is bright enough to return the firearm to the store it was purchased on, and require the contest winner to go through the background check, etc... themselves.

Oh, rats. You have to give them your phone number. I sent Michelle Bachman $100 and she told EVERYBODY. I got dozens of calls. I must have gotten 50 large size photos of Mitt Romney. Who the heck wants a photo of a male presidential candidate? They were big enough for a parade float.
As much as I’d love to enter, I don’t want the hassle.

It’s made crystal clear that the winner must pass all of the background checks.
This is being done in Georgia too, US Rep Paul Broun, candidate to replace RINO Saxby Chambliss in the US Senate sent out an identical email today.
This list won’t be sold…it’s only for Bright Campaign.

He would get a LOT of votes if “Walking Around Money” was tendered in bricks of 22LR. Could fundraise with dinners requiring payment of said bricks.
Meanwhile... I wonder if Linda is having any Hot Coccoa Jammie Party fundraisers... oh that’s right he get’s his funds right from the RNC.
