White House panics as millennials wise up, bail on Obama
The Washington Times ^ | January 26, 2014 | Joseph Curl

President Obama is making a sudden push to win back millennial voters, who have grown disillusioned over his failed “Hope and Change” campaign that left them without jobs, living in their parents’ basement.

Even though he has run his last race, the president needs the 18-to-34 age group to make his signature Obamacare policy work. Without them, the whole system falls apart — not tomorrow, today, right now, before the radical reform of U.S. health care can even get off the ground.

Just how bad is it? Just 24 percent of the new enrollees to Obamacare are between 18 and 34. The entire plan was predicated on a sign-up rate of nearly 40 percent, the idea being that healthy young people will pay more — much more — than they once did to offset the unhealthy elderly signing up for Obamacare.

In some states, the sign-up rate for millennials is abysmal: Arizona and West Virginia saw just 17 percent of the age group enroll. The White House, of course, predicts that number will grow as the deadline to sign up nears at the end of March (if you’ve got a millennial kid, you know they only do things at the last minute).

But the situation is far worse than just flagging enrollment of Obamacare, and the president knows it...

Socialism doesn’t work - no matter how one tries to package it...I hope it’s not too late to turn the US around and bring it back and begin the process of weeding out and trashing state and local level socialists before they do any more greater harm...(i.e. New York)/// Then again...they voted for it - let them eat the sewer that they so wanted!

Can’t understand this, after all the obamaconomy has been so healthy for job seekers aged 18-24, those hefty premiums and deductibles are mere chump change to a generation flushed with economic confidence

sarc

I thought ages 18-26 are staying on Mommy and Daddy’s insurance plan- those Mommy and Daddys who still have insurance plans

In the real world, Obama isn’t running for office this year. The real question is how this demographic will vote (or if they vote) in November 2014.

They may hate that they can’t get jobs, or that they’re being threatened with zot-knows-what over health insurance ... but those Republicans are so mean and intolerant! We can’t vote for meanies!

You’ve hit the nail on the head; we shouldn’t read too much in their rejection of ZeroCare. Their lemming-like support gave us Obama to begin with.

“Just 24 percent of the new enrollees to Obamacare are between 18 and 34.”

I wonder what percent of the stated 24% are ‘true believers’ signing up out of a sense of duty for the socialist common good, and what percent are looking for a ‘free’ ride in another entitlement program.

18 to 26 should be 0% because they are on parents policy, No.

Which, of course, is why the Semitic Chuckie Schumer is attacking "White Anglo Saxon Men" (his words not mine). The Dems need to replace the voters they have screwed over with a new permanent entitlement class. Schumer also knows that Latinos refer to Whites as "Anglos".

Good life lesson for millenials----"politicians are the lowest form of human life and will say anything to get their votes---even lie to their faces."

==================================================

As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the "Affordable Care Act :

OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have your choice of doctor.”

The Big Lie repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1940's ERA EUROPE Obama And The Dumbos marched in lockstep. The persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

=================================

SIGNING "THE BIG EFFIN' DEAL"

"Those Democrats leering over my shoulder owe me bigtime. This
healthcare bill insures we have a permanent Democratic majority."

" All except those Tea Party types, swallowed hook, line and sinker my promises that they could:
(1) keep their existing health plans,
(2) keep their own doctors that they like,
(3) keep their 25-year-olds on the family health plan,
(4) never be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition,
(5) sign up instantly on my tech-savvy government Web site,
(6) buy insurance only after becoming seriously ill."
(7) save $2,500 in annual premiums in the bargain....
(8) All without any new taxes."

"Them sonovagun Tea Partiers will rue the day they criticized my wonderful bill."

================================================

"THE BIG EFFIN' DEAL" is now a Big Effin' Debacle---lock-stepping Dems are frantic. A 2014 election issue it is not.Lock-stepping Dems seem to have gotten the heebie jeebies over Obamacare.

Nanzi Pelosi Says Dems win in 2014 Focusing on The 3 R’s: Recruiting, Raising Cash, Raising Issues.....but Nancy plumb "forgot" to mention "Obamacare"--- the signature legislation of their president. Lock-stepping Dems said O/Care is a winning Democrat issue..... they were so s-u-r-e Americans would l-o-v-e Obama's wonderful healthcare plan.

ROTFL.

I think the millennials will for the most part sit out 2014.

In 2016 it will probably take someone new and charismatic to get them out(i.e. not Hilary).

“Hope” and “change” are such ambiguous terms. Now they know what a deal with the devil is.

That’s why Obama is letting it be known that he’s cool with legalizing pot. His tiny weed-addled mind seems to believe that everybody just wants to stumble through life with no challenges and no future except what the government wants to give them, so he feels marihuana legalization is going to be the piece de resistance for this group. And he hopes he’ll get the libertarian vote, too.

Signing up and enrolling is one thing, paying the monthly premium is another.

Just think what will occur when a person in that demographic decides they can’t afford the premium and then decides I’m not paying it. And then I want you to imagine the look of shock on their faces when that payment plus late fee are deducted right out of their accounts. Actions like that tend to PISS-OFF people who are pinching their pennies.

I’ve suspected that the poll numbers for Obama and the Dims are a lot worst than what is being reported.

The reason that I believe that is because the Democrats have stepped up their attacks against conservatives in recent weeks, like the D’Souza indictment and Cuomo telling “extremist right wingers” to get out of NY.

While it is true that Obama isn’t running for reelection, he wants a Democrat controlled Congress for his last two years office. I don’t think he is going to get that.

Drop the age 27 deal down to 21, and maybe the whole group would jump quickly in to get new high-premium insurance. There had to be a bunch of idiots designing this whole mess....who didn’t grasp how saying a 26-year old is a ‘kid’ would screw up their whole system.
