This sounds crazy
but I don’t read Spanish and would like more details
Ecuador is such a brutal dictatorship that they now use the US Dollar as their currency.
I kept looking for the button that says “Press 1 for English”...
Ecuador has turned into a radical leftist country and has, for some time, been pursuing anybody, ranging from bankers to military people, who stood in the way of this at the time. Ecuador knows it has the support of Holder and Obama now, so it is redoubling its efforts to attack these people and, if theyve gotten out of the country, to get them returned for a kangaroo court trial.
Ecuador, of course, is one of the emerging markets responsible for the stock market melt-down; all of these newly leftist countries (leftist within the last few years) are doing so badly economically that theyre on the verge of collapse. But does anybody care how left-wing governments are tied to economic collapse? Apparently not. (There was a very good article in the WSJ a couple of days ago about this.)
Not to mention social collapse. Leftist Bolivia seems to believe its going to make a living by selling legalized cocaine, and Ecuador hopes to get in on the legalized drug trade - once it has exhausted the monies it seized from individuals and corporations when the left took over.
Im not surprised in the least that Obama let this man be seized in our own country, in our own capital, in fact. He even ordered our immigration services to do it.
Moderator. Move to Noticia de última hora.
Great, now we’re posting documents in consideration of illegal immigrants that might come here once on a 1000 years.
Repeat slowly... “THIS IS THE USA. THE LANGUAGE HERE IS ENGLISH.”
Due process is the right of every man. Here’s hoping the General is allowed to exercise his rights.
Ecuador General Edgar Vaca was arrested in the U.S. capital, at the request of the authorities of the Andean country to claim for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity, said the Ministry of Interior of Ecuador in a statement.
Cow and nine other generals and colonels of the Army and Police were accused by the Ecuadorian Attorney General for his alleged role in the torture, sexual violence and forced disappearance of three former guerrillas arrested in 1985 accused of having links with the rebel group Alfaro Vive Carajo (AVC ).
In that case, the first of crimes against humanity reached the Ecuadorian courts, on 1 October, remand was ordered house arrest and banned from leaving the country for those accused of crimes of torture, sexual violence and disappearance forced.
This is the case of Susana Boxes, Luis Vaca and Javier Jarrin, who were arrested in 1985 during the administration of late president León Febres Cordero (1984-1988), accused of being linked to AVC.

(Translated with Google translate)
He is being arrested at the behest of the “Truth Commission” of the Ecuadorian Attorney General.
Basically, Ecuador, which has turned into a leftwing dictatorship, had US authorities seize this former general for “crimes against humanity.” They claim that he was involved in the torture of leftist prisoners before what was essentially a leftist take over of Ecuador.
It had been preceded by “labor actions” and leftwing violence throughout the country, and the General was involved in the army response to these disturbances and plots, although I highly doubt that he was involved in torture, as they claim, and in fact, I would be surprised if any official torture really happened. But Ecuador needs show trials to keep the people revved up, and in addition, they usually seize assets and thus get a little more money flowing into the empty government coffers.
The left is feeling very powerful, mostly because, seeing Obama’s example, they have realized that even economic failure and loss of liberties don’t seem to invalidate them with their faithful.
Made the mistake of thinking he could officially come here. Should have contacted friends here and hid out till Obama makes every illegal a citizen by fiat.
He would have been the exception.
Actually, my objection is to our LEGAL immigration policies. We keep out Latin Americans who just want to work here, and instead fill up the country with government-imported Muslim “refugees” from Africa, the ME and Russia who don’t want to work at all, live on welfare and other benefits, and hate us and want to destroy us. By those standards, since the General clearly does not hate us and want to destroy us and is not a Muslim, Obama wouldn’t let him stay.
Spanish? Now you tell me. I spent the last half hour trying to read it and just figured I was drunk. :)
vaca is “cow” in spanish. “Mensa” means stupid girl, as I remind a coworker who is a member.
So much for Google translate. LOL!
There was a reason why the ‘Nova’ didn’t sell well in Mexico. :)
0bama and Hillary began this administration by trying to sell out Honduras to a leftist thug.
I apologize that this is in Spanish. You are guaranteed not to find this in English US news. Alfaro Vive Carajo is a well know communist, terrorist organization that was involved in narco trade, bombing, ect. in Ecuador.
During a previous Ecuadorian president, the army, the police, and other civilian and government organization came together to put an end to the thugs who were killing police officers, bombing buildings, and terrorizing the country.
Correa the “president” that followed, decided to make an example of those people who fought against Alfaro Vive thugs, and has publicly threatened them and their families with jail and even hinted that they deserved death. Of course he claimed they were traitors, killers, blah blah blah.
My cousin is afraid of talking over the phone about this with me, but says it is all true except for the fact that the General is a criminal. He is an amazing man, and did what any one of us would do to protect our country, besides they were following orders. There were hundreds of people involved in fighting Alfaro Vive, they have all been threatened. They have been silenced, and some even disappeared.
The fact that this country would turn Government officials seeking political asylum like that, says it all. It is as if all those Americans fighting the Muslim Brotherhood in Afganistan were suddenly called traders and killers and told that they along with their families were criminals and deserved to die.
The US government KNOWS what Alfaro Vive is. They know what happened. They are in cahoots with dictators!!!
Thank you. No need to apologize. It is interesting information and I thank you for filling in with your own details. This bears watching.
Why did you think it was approptiate to post an article in Spanish.
Because the news isn’t available in English, and it is newsworthy regardless, I did my best to explain the article. Thankfully numerous readers with more time at the moment were capable of translating it.
Conservatives are not the uneducated intolerant hillbilly’s that liberals portray us to be. I have no doubt that many FR readers are cultured people that understand the world beyond their immediate noses. Those that no even know where Ecuador is on a map, wouldn’t find it appropriate to bother reading it, right?
This story is also available in English from many sources. You were simply too lazy to find and use one.
Ecuador is of no concern to the US, nor are their generals or political infighting. We are not the world’s police, and that has nothing to do with being or not being a hillbilly as you are suggesting we are if we don’t care about Ecuador. I didn’t hear anyone but you call us hillbillies.
Interpol issued the arrest warrant based on substantial information of his guilt. To assume Obama is somehow guilty of something for following a valid arrest order for Edgar Vaca is lying about the material facts of the case. I hate Zero but this “General” was properly charged with crimes for which he was arrested and is being deported.
Ecuador is a third-world sh*thole and this general is most likely a guilty party of its corrupt government.
Eeew Code Toad.
You know nothing, understand nothing, and have mistaken me for someone who has the least bit interest in your opinions. You don’t understand, don’t opine. Your ignorance, or bitterness in life, or personal problems, that reflect themselves in your post are NOT interesting. Keep it to yourself.
Don’t like it, don’t opine.
If you don’t like my comments then don’t post the threads. That’s the way this works. You are a typical liberal in that you try to claim personal problems are the reason for disagreeing with you.
Maybe a liberal web site would be best for your interests. Supporting murdering third-world tyrants isn’t in our interests here.
OK, Let me explain things a little better CodeToad.
There are many people in the world willing to give up their lives to fight for their counties, family’s, and fellow men. I have warned people for years that Obama’s campaign, was JUST LIKE THAT OF CHAVEZ. I am not a liberal.
Besides the identical campaign slogans of Hope and Change, Obama also received a lot of unaccounted funds from the middle east. There are numerous international elitists funding Marxisms, and it is an international phenomenon.
Snowden, for example, is an example a man who did his duty and our government put a price on his head, along with using their media propaganda machines to label him a traitor. Ignorant people believe the deception and collaborate with the idea of destroying a man who gave up his life to support his country.
When a communist regime threatens the lives of officials, along with their families, for “crimes” that happened 30 years prior, you can assume there is something fishy, if you know anything about Marxism.
The fact that someone came to apply for political asylum and was thrown in jail at the request of a dictator is unprecedented. It shows that Marxist control has reached all levels of our government, and there is nobody willing to complain.
We are in trouble.
True, except Elian Gonzalez was a custody battle. It wasn’t hard to argue with the idea of sending a boy back to his father.
Political asylum is managed by the DHS, and you can now rest assured the Jehovah Johnson, another Oblahblah, appointee is a Marxist mole.

Jeh Charles Johnson (born September 11, 1957) is an American civil, criminal trial lawyer, and the current United States Secretary of Homeland Security. He was the General Counsel of the Department of Defense from 2009 to 2012 during the first Obama Administration. Johnson is a graduate of Morehouse College (B.A.) and Columbia Law School (J.D.), and is grandson of sociologist and Fisk University president Dr. Charles S. Johnson. Johnson is currently serving as the Secretary of Homeland Security, and is the fourth person to hold the office. He was nominated by President Barack Obama in October 2013, and was subsequently confirmed on December 16, 2013 by the U.S. Senate with a vote of 78-16.
Johnsons first name (pronounced Jay) is taken from a Liberian chief, who reportedly saved his grandfathers life while Dr. Johnson was on a League of Nations mission to Liberia in 1930.
Jeh Charles Johnson is a partner at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (think tank), and was a governor for the Roosevelt Institute.
Note: George Soros is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (think tank), and the chairman for the Foundation to Promote Open Society.
Foundation to Promote Open Society was a funder for the Roosevelt Institute, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace (think tank), and the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund.
Jeh Johnson, head of DHS, is a big Obama donor. He donated more than $33,000 to Obamas campaign. Now that donation is paying off as Obama nominated Jeh Johnson to be Homeland Security secretary. Of course, can Johnson really be any worse than big sis Janet Napolitano? Johnson also donated thousand to democrats and has ties to Soros.
Obama/Soros appointees are entrenched in our government branches, with billions of dollars at their disposal. They are easily and effectively operating outside of the law, and there is no one media or watch dog, to blow the whistle. They are operating impunity. We are living in a dictatorship.
Now do you understand what is happening CodeToad?
But apparently impossible to invite the father to join the rest of the family here.
Well in a custody battle one could argue that Janet Reno was acting within the law, and at least their was some pretense of due process.
There was absolutely no due process in this case, no media attention, just another man jailed after being denied the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 14 which states that “Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution.”
Our government is breaking national and international laws with impunity. This just one small example.
