He happily narrated an anti-gun rights propaganda video. Another piece of crap who is good at pretending for a camera.

The last movie I saw him in was The Master with Joaquin Phoenix and Amy Adams. I was a very good movie but definitely dark and creepy. The script and Hoffman’s character Lancaster Dodd was based on L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology.

Cocaine is all the rage in Hollywood we hear, but the drug of choice is, as it always has been, heroin.

That’s why the cops kept trying to shut it down, they knew what the hell was going on there which is why they kept busting their chops over stuff like “no dancing” laws.

I have to watch what I write here though because everything posted on Freep goes right into Google for anyone to find with a search, so let me just say it is my OPINION. I have no evidence but it is just my educated opinion being a street smart former NYC taxi driver who had interaction picking up fares in that certain area. Let me just say there was a lot of snorting sounds in the back seat :) That’s why I get really really ticked off when I hear these idiots dictating to the public about politics. We got junkies being taken seriously, given a national platform on Presidential elections and then we wonder why idiots are elected.

Sorry, but if you don’t know him you can’t claim to be a movie lover. (Not saying you do.) He has been a terrific actor in some of the best movies over the last decade and a half.

I am always mystified as to why some of our best and creative artists always turn to the dark side of drugs.

I've seen ‘Patch Adams’ several times.

The only reason I watched that vomit-inducing,sanctimonious dreck is because of Bob Gunton, the actor who played the dean who was hell-bent on kicking Patch out of the school. He is simply wonderful. Wonderful and kind.

Last year I was driving down Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood, he was jogging of all things, down the sidewalk - he looked 70 years old - just awful. I loved him in The Talented Mr Ripley, The Master and Guilt with Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. - RIP

I never claimed to be a movie lover, and I have no idea how you ever got that impression.

You’re absolutely correct about movies. I haven’t been to a movie theater in 15 years. I haven’t missed the experience one bit — especially with all the garbage turned out for public consumption by Tinsel Town. Sorry.
